I am rather in favor of people who try to do the best that they can while getting through the world. There has always been a counterculture and there probably always will be. As far as age, some of the most interesting posts I have read on this forum have been by young people. It is my opinion that everybody has something to say. However, I am often wrong.
But it's not impossible to have a love for the whole of a species. If you understand the human experience, you can love all people.
yea man. i totally see what youre saying. like the date dont matter man. its all relative. what was absolute then is absolute now. love is always love man.
I think that the idea of “loving everyone” is more about having love and accomplishing common goals in mind when interacting with people, rather than competition. It might be impossible to have love as a basis of interaction all of the time, but that doesn’t mean that it isn’t a good thing to try most of the time. Ghandi killed millions of micro-organisms when he boiled water to make rice, but he’s still pretty damn non-violent compared to, oh, say, Stalin.
loveee, how's it going?!?! That's really fucked up.... surely you're just kidding????? Stalin killed millions of humans on purpose.. Ghandi killed millions of micro-organisms to survive... you cant compare the two!!!
DOWN WITH WATER BOILING!!! but yeah, how are ameoba and a ukrainian similar in anyway other than they they have mitochondria and produce ATP? love is morally wrong
No no no, you're completely misunderstanding me! I was trying to say that even though you can't love everyone, you can't trash the whole idea of love as a basis of interaction. No one's perfect. Even Ghandi, a man of the highest moral standards and champion of nonviolence, could not be completely nonviolent. I didn't mean that Ghandi was in any way comparable to Stalin! Of course Ghandi isn't comparable to Stalin! I mean- do you understand what I was trying to say?
*digs ditch and shoots self* I didn't mean that Ghandi killing micro-organisms was wrong! My point was that even though Ghandi killed micro-organisms, he's still non-violent!
yes, fine, i understand what you are saying but you care still comparing violence towards amoeba's to violence towards millions of ukranians, and many other ethnic groups...
It's not fucked up to love him. I love him because he is another HUMAN BEING. I cannot stand the actions he took, but it's not my job to judge his actions.
