i got freinds in dublin with dreads but yea i here tghe scene theres ..non existent the jedi tghing make it 'i doubt u can buy it anywhere' ]its just ribons strings and trinkets? thats simple enough to do u got a picture?
nevermind, ive been checking up how they look seems pretty simple just to make it myself, thanks anyway, Oh by the by, thought i might mention, I had my hair braided and then the braids straightned, then taken out before backcombing, really made my hair giant, and helped to backcomb. and get it all started, im sure this tip is somewhere around the forum but i just thought i would say it cause it worked for me
gotta new question that is rather noobish, what is the deal with the loopy bits that are sort of coming out of a lock? and is there anyway to get it to go back in?
its suposed to be there loops lead to knots they also create the unique features that make your dreads yours u can palm roll em u=submissuon doing dammage while u do and making your dereads boring perfect tubes, or u can love em and leave em and they will add techyture as they tighten itr means your moving into the next stage..the actual dreading stage congrats
woo hoo, thanks, was just kinda curious what was with them, i hear a lot of people talk about them but just wasnt sure what they actually were
well knots form in 3 dimentions, hairs move all over, some push out to the sides some up some down the loops catch other hairs in them forming knots, comprtesi sloly tightens them her but as a visual aid notice how each dreads got unique features and techtures, lumps bumps twists these are caused by loops that then tighten giving the dread a unique look and feel, its especialy easy to see in that thick one that has that lil detour from straightness in it. all knots i think are the result of some looping wether big or small loops wether internal or projecting outside the dread over time they tighten up and the crazziest ones cause the funnest featutes
thanks for the visual aid, nice to be able to see whats going on, my hair feels quite good, getting nice and tight at the back, still loose on the top though, but thats alright, knowing how the back is shaping up makes me more comfertable with it, only thing bugging me is cause there is a lot of frizzy hait it doesnt look like the hair is dreading from far away, just looks like giant uncombed hair
haha it will for a bit tame it with pure aloe if u want or..just dont care sea salt will help it tighten faster
im trying to just not think about the bad points and leave it do its thing. ill just deal with it for now. im loving my hair though, never been so happy with it, and my girlfriend is happy to have an extra pillow to lie on at night, every one wins
hahgaha at 1 gathering i had a hippire hilton (large tent open to all) and we had 4, maybe 5 useing my dreads as a pillow
Alrighty, two weeks have come and i added two wraps and two "beads" that are actually just rings cause god damm it nobody in ireland sells any damm dreadlock beads for some reason. anywhoo, heres the front The manliest wrap ever, ha ha ha The back (a little blurry, taking a pic of the back of your head with an SLR is tricky), you can see one of the rings in there too and here is a close up of one from the back
theyre definately making some progress more then when they were waxy funky weird lil masses on your head in the early pics i thinki that all set ya back slittle but probly only a few weeks or so.. from such an odd begining they seem like most are gonna form fairly natural and btw beads are beads ya dont need "dread beads" specificaly any craft stores got beads u just want some with lil larger holes that will fit yoir dreads. another thing ya never tought of.. go to a junk yard find a car with 1 of those beaded car seat covers that are suposed to be like pressure point massage seat covers or something like that clip a few strings and they come apart and ya got a few thousand beads other ideas..chillums bones nuts shells pipes (shport peices of copper or steel tubing) basicly anythig with a hole can be a bead
