WE indeed can be a group. I was just saying i think we need to stay in society and change it that way.

Cool. So Plasticfantasticlover and Sunflower Sky and me are a core. (group)
    Anybody else????

And yes Sunflower Sky. I feel that you're right. Do note that back in the 60s and the 70s the people who were really a part of the scene and who did end up changing the world over time lived in cities among society, even thought they had "dropped out of society" so to speak and created their own new type of society. They were kind of living free and living in the future. Eventually, the others in society saw that their new way was much more fun and more real. Those people in society then ether envied it or loved it and also joined or both envied and love it. Either way it changed some heads and hearts.

It may on may not have been "in society", but it was mostly urban and in the thick of things. It's the hippie SCENE that attracted hearts and minds. (And a lot of attention.)

    Anybody else????

Well I've read through this entire thread now,and I've been wavering back and forth yes no yes no yes no..................
Yeh, I was around in the 60's, lived first in Canada on Yorkville (the Haight of Canada) and then moved to Rochdale (google that if you like: a tower block, 17 floors of hippies in the middle of Toronto!) I moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1969 and then on to the UK in the mid-70s.

What I never saw in the 60s was a "leader" and I don't want to start joining in with anything now with Leaders. I don't do leaders, and WE don't need leaders. Leaders are nothing but trouble and power trips. Yeh, I really respect and admire what the young people on here have posted and it really gives me hope for the future. But leaders??????

Apart from that, I've always been here and I've always kept the faith. I live now in a part of the UK that is Hippie Mecca, hippies of all ages and generations and across the full range: original hippies, young hippies, punk hippies, traveller hippies, political hippies, commune hippies, you name it. We were never all the same, we never all wore the same clothes, ate the same things or believed the same stuff. E.g. A lot of my friends are into astrology, but I actually have never understood it! My own grandchilden are well on the way to being third generation hippies.

I am sort of interested in this thread and this movement....let me hang about a bit more and make up my mind. I'm still undecided. The Leader thing rankles with me. But you are all amazing people on here and it is heart-warming to read what you have to say.

Stillcrazy. There are NO Leaders. We're just being a SCENE.

no location no house no commune no spare change just us being a scene. We.
Here we are. If down the road we all choose to meet up and throw a party or something then we'll all do that. For the moment, it's just us here now.

You are certainly welcome to be Stillcrazy with us.

I want to visit where you live. More happening there then any place else that I've heard of.

    Leaders?

There are no such things as famous hippies. Way? Because the famous ones get busted. Ah. Duh.

    Gee You Are You.

Yeah. I can see what you mean about Lennon. And yes in are hearts we all see him as a leader. But wouldn't he deny it if you asked him? Leader?

Plus, he did get busted. (Too famous.)

    Hi Man,

You sound like we need to all save up our change and work toward buying and old school bus and fixing it up. And also starting our own out door rock concerts which is truly a major dream of mine.

I like doing what I feel like. You too can do what you feel like. Can you and me and others figure out how to make enough bucks to eat by creating enough of a scene or a new thing and we all make a living traveling around and doing what we feel like? I want to do that. Do we need a press agent? An advance team? Lets do what you want for real and see if we can start something fun and feed and buy gas. Rocken?

    A Scene!

Can we bring Zoso_4 with us???? We have to hide him under the sleeping bags. LOL Plasticfantasticlover, what do do think?

    scorpio kenny,

whats up man. its weird you say that, i always wanted to organize concerts, but for me not jus concerts. i want to organize events towards issues. for example, one against the pointless 30,000 troop draw back when we shuld jus withdraw completely. id want to have speakers there, as well as bands playing throughout the event. ppl would be free to set up there own stalls to sell whatever theyd like (hemp jewelry, clothing they made, etc). id prolly go for bands that would do it for free, that just want to play for the cause.
thats a way to make money as well as accomplishing a dream.
apart from that, id probably jus sell grass to ppl at the places we went to lol..

I think we gotta spread the peace and love whereever we are, make our own little gatherings, go to festies, find people to tag along with us, Pride parades, would work just as well. Just anywhere we are, the movement comes too.

However, Traveling around like ken kasey or the hog farm on a bus across the country seems even better.

And yep, Zoso_4 is coming with, he's the type we need. :2thumbsup:

I am ready to join or start up some kind of movement.

For the past 12 years i've been trying to make it in the capitalist world. I finished college, spent countless hours working unfullfilling jobs. Tried hard to be a "go-getter" and a "success", in the way that capitalist society defines these words.

But it's just not for me. It's always swimming against the tides for me when I try to live my life like that. It does not make me happy. And after all my hard work. I don't have much to show for it now. Just a meager amount of cash saved, and a lot of spiritual pain from living my life in ways that went against what my heart told me to do.

Anyway, in a few months I will quit my job and just wander around South Asia for a while. I need some time to find myself again. After years of trying to go against my true nature, I have forgotten myself in some ways. I need to get back to basics and reconnect. I need to redefine my world and build it from the foundations. I have a solid foundation, I just need to rebuild.

When I move back to the US. I will try to live off grid and as far removed from the system as possible. Maybe I will start my own group, maybe I will join something that is already happening. I am ready to go all in. No more walking with one foot in each world.

I plan on spending some time with hill tribes in various Asian countries. I want to see how they live and learn how they live. Autonomously from the rest of society for the most part. Low impact and low technology. Close to nature and self-sufficiant.

For those of you who are serious about a movement and a revolution of thought and spirit. I'd like to consider you like my brothers and sisters, and say that I am totally open for you. And if you need another head to think or another pair of hands to work, i'm ready.
