I agree that experience IS the best teacher.. but you need to be ready to handle the freedom..it's impossibale to have total freedom..we all have to answer to someone..or have someone that we're responsible to.. a common respect for the feelings of those that chairish us.. Karma has a funny way of coming back on you..careful what you put out there

 

It seems there is a good diversity of viewpoints up here. Plus some good information. I THINK most people here are being honest.

I think the truth is the best thing for you, vanilla. Some want to slant you in what they think is the right direction by presenting only one side of the story. Especially because you are young. But I think you have to develop your critical thinking facilities sooner or later. Eventually YOU are going to be the one who has to distinguish between fact and fiction.

 

C'mon..did you really think you wouldn't get any negative feedback here vanilla?These people are merely trying to help you, my friend. The fact that you are not respectful to them really bothers me. THAT my dear, says alot about you. Believe it or not, they are alot wiser than you, or even me for that matter. No..we don't know you, but your characteristics are shining through by what you're saying here. Nothing anyone says will change your mind, hell, you're 16. You should, however, be thankful these kind people thought about your post and were kind enough to take time to give their opinions. Instead you lashed out and said some pretty mean things. I doubt you were even gonna run away anyway. If you were, I don't think you'd come on here to tell about it first. You'd just go..who gives a fuck how or what anyone has to say about it. I'm sure there are many homeless kids out there that would give anything to be in your shoes. Loving family, roof over your head, food in your tummy. Excuse me if I don't feel very sympathetic to your "boredom".

I WAS going to run away, and YES, I did want advice on how to avoid getting caught. I worked things out and am leaving with my parents permission, so now I'm a kid who is faking things to upset people? Who did I upset, you? Please.

Also, FYI, I get along with lots of people. Probably everyone else that's posted on this thread and 95% of the people on these forums, but I find it hard to get along with people that use their age as an excuse to pretend to be SO wise and to put people younger than them down. Older doesn't ALWAYS mean wiser. I could be any other person in the world and if I wasn't 30 you'd be posting the same thing you are now.

And no, I won't "shut the fuck up". You should take your own advice, since it's so "heart felt" and wonderful.

 

You might want to check out the Rainbow Family Forum, and learn about the family. Whenever I go to gatherings, I always see minor children that are obviously on the road, on their own but travelling with family. I don't know much about it, like how safe it is, but everyone is pretty anonymous.
