I really am coming to the conclusion that this is all an illusion. None of it is true; none of it adds up. None of it even makes sense.

Let's wait for wikileaks to tell us the real story. I smell a big leak coming.

 

it wasn't meant saracastically at all, and I just want you to know that from the bottom of my heart. Truly, especially with the marine training, they are trained to love violence as much as Bin Laden does, and unlike the tragedies of Vietnam and all the wars beforehand when one had no choice, now, it is a CHOICE to join the military, its a red blooded all american male thing to do- oh but if you are a taliban member voluntarily you are evil-

but wait? Look at all the cover ups of what "our boys" do to the innocent children and women and men overseas? As you said, they knew what they were getting into. and i am NOT SAYING EVERY SOLDIER IS EVIL, but there is a HUGE percentage, just like cops, who go into it so they can commit heinous crimes because they know they will be protected , covered up, and bec. they, like cops, are above the law and now have an excuse to literally bask and partake in ANY violence they choose, not just war violence.

So like you said, they knew what they were getting into.

 

No offense, but I don't know if you have the inside knowledge to really know what goes on inside the US armed forces (not that I do since I'm not a US citizen). I do not think that soldiers are being trained to love violence or that a large percentage joins the forces to act out their criminal sides. You will always find the bad apples wherever you look, but I still don't think it's representative.
The violence (e.g. useless violence against civilians) in my opinion is mostly born out of the violent nature of war combined with fear and anger. And there are accidents .... I know there shouldn't be but if you start shooting in a populated area you're likely to have what is called "collateral damage".

What is much worse is the politics behind it. Always has been, always will. Only one country does not have a military: Costa Rica, bless them.

 

Don't you think that if the killed SEALs were in fact THAT team they wouldn't let us know immediately? It would be a huge "advertisement" for the "War Against Terror".

I don't think they need one. And the could always make up the story on how how they just shot down the team that got OBL and post it all over the internet.

actually, some don't have any choice... well they do in a sense... it is a case of join the military or starve... but i get what you're saying SC... the military does attract psychopaths, granted, but the majority of them don't realise, until they see action, exactly what they are getting into AND believe they are protecting those they love... that's just ignorance, and we can all be guilty of that...

 

Wonder if it was a clean up effort of some sorts to ensure whatever really may or may not have gone down stays under wraps?

 

If people would read the thread they would see the news that states that no members of (the non-existent) SEAL team 6 that were involved with the "assassination" of OBL were on board the chopper that was taken down. Too many people are repeating speculation made before we were informed of this and it's starting to get on my nerves.

Of course, that could be a lie designed to stop people from suspecting that it is to silence those that know the truth... This game is fucked up.

I propose we forget all about the specifics and work towards replacing our current power structure with something much more beneficial to mankind.

 

Yep, and in some cases it may be required to utilize the same tools of mis and disinformation they use to acheive those goals right? :cheers2:

(Not saying I actually read the whole thread, as you implied I missed that detail. But anything to piss off more folks against a corrupt structure wether it be truthful or otherwise isn't a bad thing in my eye's.)
