I think you're getting wrapped up in marketing and labels too much. In general you're correct just because something is "natural" doesn't mean it is INSTANTLY better for you. However as a general rule it's probably a better idea to limit the number of questionable preservatives, dyes, pesticide, etc from your diet if you're interested in eating something that's "better for you". The reason for this is that often times these preservatives, dyes, pesticides and other food treatment chemicals carry with them certain side effects, like depleting the nutritional content, or causing health problems on prolonged high intake and exposure. Though in general it's always a good idea to read the label and check the ingredients all natural and organic food tend to be "healthier" in a strict sense that you don't have to worry about any/as much chemical "sketch-ables" going into your food. Since you're a man of facts, try this for a fun exercise you can do at home. Grab a bag of all-purpose flour. Read the ingredients. Then go to the store and read the ingredients on an organic bag of unbleached flour. Write down the different ingredients and research what each one does/why it is added into the flour in the first place.
Of course a natural diet would be better for you. Why, because it IS natural, it's the way people would eat if they didn't eat processed and manipulated stuff.... How could any other diet BE better? And "natural" IS organic. Not organic, not natural. Man made, not natural. Super processed, not natural. A natural diet would be one which you eat unprocessed, un-bleached, organic, un-poisoned (no additives or hormones or ANYTHING), and local. Add anything to that and it MAY not be AS GOOD for you. It may even be bad for you. Natural IS natural, that's not too hard to grasp. I sort of think the original post was a leading statement, because it really doesn't make sense for someone to feel that way..
I have a friend who thinks that just because something comes from the health food store that it's good for him. He's a sugar junkie and lives on pizza, chocolate, cookies, etc. He thinks that just because he gets organic cookies that they're good for him...they may be less bad than oreos, but they're still sugar bombs...*sigh*
Don't know if anyone has pointed this out yet, but "natural" is a marketing term, and has nothing to do with whether a food is processed with pesticides, etc. "Organic" is the only term that is regulated by the FDA. It can't be used legally unless the grower/feeder etc uses only organic methods. No pesticides, hormones, etc.
sorry but this might be off topic. why do people always ask for proof or facts to back things up in forums? it's his fucking thoughts you idiot! stop thinking you are so smart and always have to have some type of back up for someone to say something interesting! stop being such a nerd. look it up yourself if you don't want to believe someone. if he doesn't provide it for you than fuck off.
someone is acting a bit...hmm...childish when you spout BS on a public forum, especially a health forum, its a disservice to people who may follow the BS. which is why we have a need to substantiate what you say and if you can't back it up, then its BS - which is what this thread is...a whole big bag of BS with no backing
