Unproven, follows a pattern of similar claims made in recent years about protesters "killing" innocent victims. One in July accused Black Lives Matter protesters of doing the same thing, and one in Memphis in mid 2016 claiming it was a 12 year old.
I guess one thing I'm not sold on is the whole Trickle Down economics plan. I think the economy is alright, but I don't know that giving tax cuts to the wealthiest Americans translates into jobs. Something tells me that they're not sitting there looking at their check register and checking out how many jobs they can create. Maybe some are, but that's not a guarantee.
Sigh. I was being facetious, i dunno why i bothered though as it usually is lost in translation on HF isnt it? I was making a statement regarding the buying habits of the majority of people in capitalistic societies where people are pushed to consume, consume, consume from a very young age. I'm not really much of a consumer myself but thanks so much for your concern guys, thats sweet
I would tend to agree. From a very young age consumerism is thrust upon us. Consider the way toys are marketed to kids following a Star Wars movie. Or any Disney movie for that matter. They put the brand on everything. You can't buy a sandwich at a subway without seeing it on your food!
I have a four year old, its a real pain in the ass trying to raise him to be non materialistic in today's world lol
I bet! my family has wised up and stopped doing Christmas altogether. We still go to mass, but presents? Forget it! Lol.
i had a feeling but you can only worry about yourself, why do you care if a bunch of other people want the new iphone7
I swallowed my pride and watched MSNBC this morning. The leftist crybabies on that show that were being interviewed were trying to say that social media is responsible for "fake news" being spread across social media sites. And it contributed to Trump's victory. Basically, they are pissed off at the fact that people are turning to alternative media, because trust in televised mainstream media is less than 6%. The funny thing about it is that ALL social media sites (facebook, twitter, google+) are left biased! Social media is an arsenal of the left wing and have a proven track record of censoring conservative and libertarian users.
that makes me think back to the old voting rules, i wonder who it was and why they said "hey i dont want all us old white people to have all the power, i want everyone to have an equal say" not that i am against that but its just funny that they would open up the country club.
I don't think anyone here is arguing that the KKK doesn't exist. It clearly exists, but only in microeconomic numbers with very little to no influence at all Yeah I'd say that's a fair statement
You said in post #291: LGT killings...no idea what you're talking about. Treatment of women...no idea what you're talking about. Innocent Yemens...no idea what you're talking about. I was asking you how you could be in denial of all these things? Are you trying to say that Saudi Arabia doesn't do any of these things, or were you being sarcastic or facetious? Hillary said that when she became president, she would respond to Russia's cyber attacks with military action. Even Jill Stein even predicted an American Russian war under Hillary Clinton.
Even Jill Stein? She's another Putin lap dog. Maybe she has inside information from her get together with Putin over coffee.
well this is clearly a partisan thread. I am not a partisan person, or even bipartisan but I will attempt to answer this honestly and sincerely I do try to worry about myself, and I try not to be too preachy about it, although maybe no one here would see it that way lol but, at the same time, capitalism in its current form is simply not sustainable. So therefore, while obviously I can only control myself, I can certainly find reason to be concerned with the unsustainability of the world as a whole. Like I mentioned before, I have a child. I care about his future. I'm honestly not sure what kind of future his sweet little generation will have, and my concern goes well beyond simplistic bipartisan American politics. Social media is an arsenal of the left wing in your eyes because you are from a leftist region of the country. I am from a right wing region of the country, alt right even, and I assure you social media is definitely an arsenal of the right wing as well. Also, I am not here to defend mainstream media. I wouldn't call geniuine investigative journalism dead in this country, but close enough. So I do understand you see irony in the fact that MSNBC is attacking "fake news" that is being spread across social media but I assure you, fake news really is being spread across social media sites - from someone who sees what the "alt right" crowd posts on social media every day, and follows up and checks their sources. fake news is a real problem.
This from the person who continually boasts about doing research yet reply with "Don't know what you are talking about". To add, you also claim that there is no proof yet you reach into the "Russian Hack" narrative in regards to the election results when there is NO proof that ever took place. MeAgain said: "As far as war over the proven Russian hacks, that would probably have been counter cyber attacks, but I doubt we'll see any response to the illegal Russian attacks now that Trump is in power. I expect more Russian cyber attacks on the West." Hillary has stated "Military action" against Russia. They have done nothing wrong to America or the world for that matter except sit back and allow HRC and the Obama administration dig their own graves. The biggest threat there is is the Globalisation narrative and that is where certain countries are scared of Trump; not that he will blow up the world but he wants to look after America first. What's wrong with that? https://www.rt.com/business/367017-merkel-warns-protectionism-globalization-trump/
Soooooo.... Billions of dollars in arms sales to the Saudis under a Democratic presidency, and that is perfectly fine! Our relationship with the Saudis is complicated, that's all. coffee with Putin, and you're nothing but an evil Putin lap dog! Thanks for clearing that up for me.
No, it was Jill's decision to denounce U,S, human rights in Moscow without saying boo about Putin that made her that. The Middle East is a different can of worms. We have Saudi Arabia, bastion of repressive Wahabi-Salafi Islam, Iran and Syria to juggle. Making foreign policy decisions strictly on the basis of moralistic consderation could lead to a disaster from the standpoint of peace and U.S. national interests.
Maybe Jill Stein decided that making foreign policy decisions strictly on the basis of moralistic considerations could prove a disaster, particularly while a guest in Russia She did denounce Russian human rights violations, i posted a link for you once! Has Hillary denounced Saudi Arabia's human rights violations? Oh wait neither of them are politically relevant right now anyways.
