Notwithstanding recent stories in the news media and on the Internet, Selective Service is not getting ready to conduct a draft for the U.S. Armed Forces -- either with a special skills or regular draft. Rather, the Agency remains prepared to manage a draft if and when the President and the Congress so direct. This responsibility has been ongoing since 1980 and is nothing new. Further, both the President and the Secretary of Defense have stated on more than one occasion that there is no need for a draft for the War on Terrorism or any likely contingency, such as Iraq. Additionally, the Congress has not acted on any proposed legislation to reinstate a draft. Therefore, Selective Service continues to refine its plans to be prepared as is required by law, and to register young men who are ages 18 through 25.

Well, our government also told us that Iraq had WMDs and was planning to use them on us. Considering that they've been taking measures to avoid the draft for months (holding soldiers back, bringing back old reservists, using national guard and coasties, etc.) AND we are being told that they want tens of thousands more soldiers there, I am convinced that there will be a draft if we don't get out of there within the next year.

Yeah I think the draft will start up soon...But it's probably gonna start a civil war here in America.

I wouldn't dodge it,I'd go even though I don't like the war,I don't give a Fuck!I'm think about joing the Marine Core anyways...but i don't like the war,i'm so fuckin stupid.

There is always going to be a way into either country, and if I can't get any alternative ways to dodge it I will go into hiding in the U.S. or go to jail. There is no chance in hell I would serve for this country, unless maybe it was American soil that was invaded. Or maybe if it was another country coming in and murdering hundreds of thousands Americans in an attempt to bring their version of peace. Then maybe I'd fight.

 

I was planning to head to Ireland cause I have relatives up there. But there's new immigration laws that make it pretty much impossible to get in. I'll probably go into hiding in the states, or just go to jail. If they don't draft women, I'd probably be helping some guys dodge it and go to jail that way. I guess I COULD sign up as a consiencious objector, but then you still have to aid in the war effort, albeit in a non-violent way. Can't you doge by signing up with peace core?

Dude, if you don't like the war, don't fight in it. Hide out, go to jail, go to mars, but don't fight. The government is supposed to work for US, not the other way around. Fight for what you believe in.

 

Yeah I proabably won't join, cause I'm a middle school drop out...yes middle school.So I'll probably be a fuckin' bum or somethin'.

But I really wanna join the Marines.I wanna do somethin' different,somethin' that noones done in my family in a long time.Since both my grandpa's who fought in WW2,I wanna be wanna of the few family members who've been in the shit:X
