Intense and Obscure - Truth Don Die by Femi Kuti Ocean - John Butler Trio Kick Out the Jams - The MC5 Reactor - Disco Biscuits Echo - Perpetual Groove Grooves - Robert Randolph and the Family Band Home - Dream Theater Blueberry Cave - Garaj Mahal Anything that has a drum solo from the band Perpetual Groove. Vegetable Man by the Mad Cap himself, Syd Barrett during his short lived solo career the entire live album Talking Only Makes It Worse by TJ Kirk. I listened to it on the radio once and still have never been able to find it in any record store. For those of you who like rap, Classified is almost unheard of where I'm from. Unheralded songs from well known bands Gap by 311 Firewater by 311 Stealing Happy Hours by 311 The Toyes version of Smoke Two Joints (the original) Weather Report Suite - Grateful Dead Set the Controls For the Heart Of the Sun - Pink Floyd Phil's Farm - Umphrey's McGee For anyone who thinks of Smoke On the Water whenever they think of Deep Purple I suggest listening to the album Made In Japan. the album An American Prayer - Jim Morrison And quite frankly, in my opinion, one of the top 2 or 3 songs ever written (it does get a lot of respect, but I think every one should know it) is Driving Song by Widespread Panic. I'm not a huge fan of Panic but that song is just unbelievable.
Axwell's Feel The Vibe. Definitely intense. A modern dance song reminiscent of those great rave tracks I used to listen to back in the early nineties.
To Here Knows When - My Bloody Valentine. An hypnotic song (as most of their ones), with a repetitive beat and guitar and lush vocals. Star - 08001. Something beautiful. Trip hop mixed arabic and reggae vocals. It's very trippy and lovely.
I'm not really sure what you mean by "intense" could mean any thing, but a couple of rare songs that get my blood pumping hard is Cocaine - by Paul Oakenfold, Sasha and Carl Cox, and Red Tape - by Agent Provocateur.
Diss songs that Eminem makes are pretty underground and they're really intense. Eminem is definately one of the best battlers. But the best probably is Nail in the Coffin made directly to Benzino.
That would've been some accomplishment seeing as I was born in '88. I used to listen to all the early nineties rave/dance music on the radio.
