My hubby and I are getting each other's names tattooed on our chests in Arabic script on our anniversary this month.

 

I would never tattoo anyone but a childs name on me, but if you want it there good for you.. It is a really nice tattoo

I never understood why people post to an open, public forum and then get all upset and shitty when people post honest comments.
She may have started the post j/k'ing but she made a honest comment and in part a nice understanding/justification why someone would tattoo their bf/gf name.

The comments in this thread remind me of the passage in High Fidelity where Rob goes to get this girl's name tattooed on his arm when he's 16 or something and the artist tells him to get the hell out after asking him how long they've been together and he says he isn't yet. You're 18...how many people marry or spend the rest of their lives with someone who they dated when they were 18?

You've only been dating for 7 months...SEVEN MONTHS...that's not even a YEAR..you're still in your honeymoon phase...You may think you know everything about this guy, but get real, sister. You have no idea...

And the fact that the tattooist messed up the "&" is just the icing on the cake...it's an omen..
