Whats your favorite movie? Hmm... maybe The Notebook... a rather awesome romance. I liked it. I tend to see more movies than I watch TV nowadays... I hardly ever feel the need to watch TV anymore.

What the hell is with hating America nowadays? You all (who live here) should show some respect to the men who wrote the Constitution, and the men and women who fought for freedom in the 1700s(although they stole the land in the first place) and equality in the 1800s and 1900s. Martin Luther King changed the country because he LOVED it. There was no flag burning, because violence and hatred gets you nowhere. Hate the government, but don't hate the people who gave us the freedom to say that we can hate the government.

True, but you have to remember that their initial motivation was mostly greed and selfishly driven. They weren't just out to create a great country. They simply wanted to create a place that worked for them.

Love can be split up into four groups; affection, friendship, erotic love and pure unconditional love, all (execpt the fourth) of which have three different "modes" you could call them; need love, gift love, and appreciation love. I will go no further on this topic but if somebody wants to talk about it I'd love to. I just don't want to turn this thread into a big philisophical discussion. In the end, love is whatever you interpret it out to be- it is not a definite thing in any sense of the word.

 

I'm not talking about that, but there is a reason why today's protestors are getting NOWHERE. Martin Luther King won civil rights for blacks and all minorities because he fought the government while using his love for this country to get farther than anybody else. Women won their rights in the early 20th century(and later) by having a deep love for this country. The Vietnam War was stopped partially because of the anti-war protestors' love for this country. Burning flags out of hatred will get us nowhere.
