My Super Sweet 16: materialism gone insane

It's a ridiculous show.

 

I have to admit I watch this show occasionally. It's like rubber-necking at a car wreck. It makes me feel better about myself to make fun of these spoiled little brats whining about their hair being wrong.

I did see one where I sympathized with the girl, though. These two guys decided it would be funny for one of them to put his face in the cake. It was a tall thing with columns between the layers and when he put his face in the top one, the whole thing fell over! The girl hadn't even gotten to SEE the cake yet, much less cut it or anything. She was PISSED! I would be too!

 

Seeing that show makes me lose all hope for humanity.

i thought it was a little more toned down and acceptable compared to others, until they led him outside and his parents had bought him a brand new 5 Series BMW

 

hahha i love that show. i think it makes your average american girl feel more justified for being as materialistic as she is, because at least she isn't THAT bad. or maybe they're genuinely jealous... i don't know. whatever their gimmick is, it works. i could watch a couple episodes in a row but i watch maybe five hours of tv a month.

 

I have never heard of the show or seen it, and I had to find out which channel MTV was to turn to it. Its not on now.

For my *sweet 16* my parents bought me a suit and we went out to dinner. Thats it. I didn't have a party. I'm not a girl though.

I'm watching parental control.

 

i didn't do anything for my 16th birthday. actually i think i sat on my ass and played on hipforums all day.

What blows me away on this show is not how spoiled these kids are but the pathetic losers who aren't invited to the party but try to sneak in anyway. That is just sad.

 

Yeah, I've seen the show, and I have to agree that the point is to make the girls look like brainless idiots. Just look at what clips they show. They always show the ones where the girl throws a fit because she's not getting exactly what she wants. Actually, working on that show sounds like it would be a blast. You know, if you were picking the clips to include and putting them together into a hilarious little montage of idiocy.

I have a confession whenever i can i watch that show, but wait there is redeption (or sickness) everytime i watch that show i get physiall ill and feel like i'm going to throw up and yet i still watch it. i feel this can't be a healthy reltiosnhip

i havent seen it but my friends were talking about it and i almost have a hard time believeing people can watch something so idotic.

I saw one and I caught the end it was ridiculous.... this chick spent like $180 000 or $400 000 Im not to sure but it was enough to pay for a house hear in Canada, on her sweet 16 and holly carp before anyone got there she was reviewing this dance for her opening entrance... And she was flipping out cause she didn;t like it. And then she had the nerve to tell her mom to stop dancing after her MOM PAID FOR THE GOD damn thing. Argh I hate people like that...

 

Psh....I'd LOVE to have that kind of money. Damned right I'd act like a baby if I didn't get what I wanted either. I'm jealous of them. The rest of their lives, they're taken care of.
Yes, I'm an avid watcher of the show.

 

This coming from someone who -once- had money. I NEVER acted like that, neither did I want that kind of stuff. I don't care how much money you have, that is just shallow. Maybe I'd rather not have money, if that's what it does to you.

 

i watch it sometimes because i love the feeling of hatred that boils up inside and them kids make me feel better about my self. ha
