My mom HATES my dreadlocks.

when i first backcombed, she thought i looked like a "mental patient" haha but after i told her what they mean to me and why i am doing this she said "i can respect that but look at you....thoae arnt dreadlocks!!" lol "get em done professionally so they look nice." i told her it would be about a year for them tho start looking good and after that i promised her she would like them. over the years as they got long enough to tie up with themselves. now she loves them only when i tie them back. HATES when i have them down haha

Yea, I'm not really sure why rents are so against them and don't like them :/
When I met up with my mom for dinner when she was in town, she saw mine and said word for word "are you trying to look like a black kid? They're gonna be filthy, are you gonna get corn-rows next?"

don't you just love dense (and racist in my case) parents

 

I actually knew a 50 year old cat lady with purple dreads. Think she died. Dunnay tho
