Vabeeotch.ay. Ain't no place like 17th street... I remember the last time I really spent a night there, I saw this drunk couple get thrown out of Peabody's (nightclub), and then the dude got in a fight with his girlfriend on the boulevard... literally, it the middle of the damn boulevard, then they punched out Subway's front window, down the street from the club, then this cop on horseback showed up galloping around like he was Zorro and shit, then he lept off of the horse and tackled them, then the dude got arrested and the girl started punching the cop, then they threw her on the ground and cuffed her. They had cameramen and everything, so we kept thinking we were going to be on cops or something and kept trying to like... run really fast though the police area and wave, like idiots... So this cop is like "Fucking move, there's nothing to see here, MOVE" It was some crazy shit, though, because some friends and I had just smoked a blunt and went through the mirror maze... and all of a sudden we just see a bunch of randomness. That's sort of a Beach tradition. Haha... then going skimboarding at 3am, after having a few rum and cokes... That's always great, too. There were some surfers that were wayyyyy drunker than us trying to climb the lightpoles and stuff on the boardwalk, then a cop started trying to pull them off. That happened the same night, when we were boarding. Haha, eventually the cop got tired of it and just walked off, then we started talking to the dude/asking the cop what was going on and he invited us back to his place.
I like the Zorro part haha. Yea man, I only been down there twice and both times involved smoking blunts in the backyard then hitting the city. Shit was sweet, before the baby was born, driving around blasting Wu Tang out of the rental car down the Blvd. Sun all high up in the summer. THOSE were the days haha. Here they come again, hopefully better this time around
Yeah, some parts of the beach are just really weird. We've ended up on some backstreet/cul-de-sac or in apartment complex parking lots, doing that. This old retired Navy squid walked up to our car and asked us if we needed any papers, once, but he looked like that Butler from Scary Movie or whatever... with the hand. He had the hair down and everything, but he was just wearing a pair of bicycle shorts. So we just kinda pretended we weren't sure what he was talking about, because we were all " ...wt...f?" I think the best time I was down there was the time we went to Aardvark Glass Studio, in Norfolk, and then we stopped at a Duncan Donuts to use the restroom, there. Anyway, these two girls from Old Dominion University are ordering a shitload of donuts. This was the New Year's Eve before last. They walk out at the same time as us and then we both get in our cars. A friend of mine loaded up his wooden Sherlock tobacco pipe (he only uses old wood pipes) and started passing it around, then everyone who had theirs starts passing theirs around, then these girls whip out the biggest Gotti I have ever seen and just cheeeeeef their car, then pass it to us. Anyway, we hadn't been able to find the glass studio, so we asked them for directions and they told us we were two blocks away, yet we had been driving around for an hour trying to find it, as we had never been to the studio before, so they give us directions and invite us to their New Years party at VA Beach, that night,
A good thing to get for spiders is a small hand vac - and its fun sucking em up into the vac and watching them whizz round in the glass bowl
I've done that, then I'm always creeped out when I use the hand vac, again... or when I clean the hand vac out.
