If you guys are in some small town, the politics on the police job will be tough on dad who has a stoner kid.

Some LEO's may feel pressure to let you off cause they know your dad.

Dad doesnt need special treatmet for you. Or having to owe anybody any special favors.

He doesnt need to loose "face" or status cause junior hits the bong.

Or some Officer looses $100 in a poker game to your dad and his vindication is to bust you.

Or a hundred other stoopid scenarios.

The big problem is not the occaiosanal toke, but that you self-identify as a stoner and dad can feel it.

Dad sees all kinds of sleazy types at his work, and the thought of you at a pot party or in a car with a coke head or meth heads keeps him awake at night. Just associating with some of these folks is his nightmare.

You are probably not a good candidate to be a stoner, the cost of family alienation is just too high. Your buddies do not face the same consequences that you do.

Treasure your relationship with the old man.
Put away the weed untill you are out on your own.
Do not lay this trip on to your old man.

 

That's seriously so weird how you mention cops playing poker, cause 4 of them in my town play poker with my dad and various other people.

But our police chief's son had an oxycottin addiction, and it was horrible how the other officers exploited it. They used to tell the stories to the local paper, fucked up. But since your dad is cool with you drinking, why not come home shitfaced one time and see if his perception changes...

That is ridiculous... while I don't use drugs at all even more, not even pot... I still don't consider pot to be terribly harmful. I'm glad I'm not related to any cops.

 

My dads not a cop, but hes just as bad. Hes sort of like hank hill, but a huge ass hole. Thankfully, my parents divorced when i was 10. If I lived with him, I would have never even taken the risk of trying pot. I actually just found out that my cousin, who is a cop, is gonna have to come stay at my house while he takes some sort of test where I live. Although since hes my cousin I don't think hes really gonna get in my business. I'm probably gonna get really baked just so I can say I was high and in the same house as a cop.
