    I think music is moving toward a lengthy trend of having very heavy electro/synth influences as part of everything, every genre. More and more of whatever's left of the 'emo' and 'indy' rock scenes are turning into a sort of electro-pop, while more and more Hip-hop sounds like something off Daft Punk's cutting room floor.

    I also like to think you're going to finally see a resurgence in things like punk and goth; as they have been thoroughly commercialized to the point of no longer being trendy or cool; and so the sound is finally returning to the traditional points - traditional sounds that are so outlandish compared to the mush out right now that they'll catch a lot of ears.
