what kind of music do i associate with the concept "hippie" as it exists in my own mind? that would have to be politicaly activeist acoustic folk. what kind of music did people labled hippies in the day listen to? jefferson airplane, jethro tull, even cream and iron butterfly, even, ghod help us, paul revere and the raiders, and of course the beatles, but also joan baiz and bob dylan, the association, and donovan and buffie st marie. and the busker on the corner who was themselves also. and what kind of music, do i as a survivor of the era, a kind of honorary hippie even if i haven't earned it, other then by a certain degree of shaired perspective, listen to? constance denby, klaus shultze, tangarene dream, moody blues, but also off centaur/firebird/promothius and the nesfa 'himnal' 'filk'. of coure a bit of utah phillips thrown in for good measure, and all those jam bands that make up music festivals and get played on pacifica but never on clear channel. even a bit of celtic. and then on top of that the cream of the strainge. well ok the prime time sublime and throbbing gristle isn't my idea of easy listning nor my favorites either, but gemini wolf is. along with j-pop and even the occasional radioactive sandwidch. =^^= .../\...
