I'll have to agree with this. Dinner is better because you can actually talk to the person where as in the movies you cant really talk. Unless you just want to put your finger in her vagina dinner is better :2thumbsup:

Just don't treat this like an awkward teenager date.

    Just be yourself...

Word. I'll probably fuck it up.

Nah, I'm joking. I am pretty comfortable around this girl. We have known each other for a little while now. I do hate noisy, crowded restaurants, though, and they do tend to bring out the worst in my social awkwardness.

I don't let silly shit bother me as much as it used to, though.

damn, so she's already setting it up to be a short, friendly dinner rather than a date?

reschedule the damn thing, or if you can't, drink and try to get out of work. blow work off if you have to; maybe she'll be impressed at your rebelliousness.

Blowing work off isn't really possible with my job, since SOMEBODY has to be there, and it's only me and one other person, and it's his weekend off. I wouldn't screw somebody over like that, especially at the expense of losing my job if I just don't show up. I'm not like that, besides.

I will still be able to drink, just not as much as I'd like to.

Also, it was a mutual agreement -- not something she alone set up. She couldn't do it tonight, and the weekend is her only opportunity for a while. Besides, it's not like there won't be any other opportunities to go out again.

But yeah, I wouldn't really call this a proper date per se, since today (Saturday) is my birthday and she's basically taking me out.

R0llin - what exactly do you want to know about her?

I can't remember if we were in agreement or vehemently at each others throats when we discussed work ethic on the other forums a few years ago, but I applaud your way of thinking and treating your job.

I'd like to know more about her too, Matt.

And it's a good thing that it was a mutual decision to move the date, because when that is one sided, you can almost guarantee that the person is either conflicted and disingenuous in their socializing, disinterested, or setting you up for an anachronistic debutante game the rules to which don't exist and likely mean you are in line. The latter is not a bad thing by default, but you know whether or not you are wasting your time from the start, at least intuitively. Especially if the news breaking is vague and without definite time-frame, you only moved up one day so that's a good sign.
