ACV = apple cider vinegar. And  I've been using American spelling?! lol oh noooo haha :p

So even if there's a big pile of rotting stuff in one's hair, it's never going to be the actual hair is it?
    ...is it?!

Is that possible? I think the only way that could be done is if you used mineral water. I hate the water where I'm from; it comes out white I wouldn't give it to a third world country to drink let alone myself.

Hmm I can't say I've tried apple cider vinegar. My mother in law uses it in food so maybe that's why I steer clear of it. I only use Dr Bronners. I did want to try the Bi-carb wash but I'm too lazy

IMO ACV works far better than bicarb for a deep clean. You just have to make sure that you rinse it all out properly afterwards, I have also never used it straight, very heavily diluted. It makes my dreads feel really clean afterwards.

Oh, he only just joined. Wonder if it's really him?

Ok this is the waxy thread not the johnny wotsit thread lol! We are not his groupies! :p

I'm still puzzling over the mould thing. If you're gonna know you've got mould pretty early on due to the smell, surely it would never get so bad that it's too late to catch?
I'm really struggling to understand why wax is perceived as such a dread destroyer, rather than more of a dread inconveniencer, if that's a word...

It probably is him. Pah! Well my mould wasn't too late to catch. I couldn't even smell it til it got right up my nostrils and even then it wasn't a distinct smell

So what's the big deal about wax?! Argh! lol I know fundamentally it is not needed for dreadlocks, but is the fuss thrown in the face of people coming here with waxy dreads fully justified? Oh I'm confused:confused:

Well wax caused my mould because it picked up loads of shit. I think people kick up a fuss because wax is seen as cheating, as a means to have temporary dreads

Yeh but you didn't have to cut all your dreads off. It wasn't the great catastrophe it's portrayed as here was it?

I think that's scaremongering to be honest. Anyone can salvage their dreads without cutting but it won't happen overnight. I think it's general bad advice to cut dreads

Waxed, not waxed who cares really.
If your happy with your dreads fuk what anyone else says!

Its not the end of the world if you waxed is it?

    Will your friends dis-own you?

Will ppl stare in the street?

    Will the world end?

    Nah course they wont! :)

BUT if you come in this forum and admit your waxed then you are automatically told you 'went wrong'.

    Your dreads are mouldy....

They wont dread properly blah blah...

Course they will dread, millions of ppl are living proof that wax has worked.
I know ppl who have waxed and have the most beautiful dreads Ive seen they've had no problems.
Oh my god there will be wax in the middle of there dreads...SHOCK HORROR who cares ? who knows?
