so i guess this is why america is so free. because americans are free to make racist websites, hold racist meetings, and promote racist propaganda. on the other hand. if you try to expose american troops for murdering innocent people you end up in jail. that sounds like a real fair justice system to me. whats really disturbing to me is that here you have obama, a "supposed/token" black man, and he is allowing all these things to happen under his watch just like his white predecessors.

Lmao guess what, China overtook the US as the largest produced of carbon emissions 3 years ago.

Lmaox2, what are you 12? Only problem with this statement is it's only true in your head. Do you not remember the Bush years, hating on America is a favorite past time of Europe recently, not to mention Canada and the US have always been doing it to each other almost in a sibling rivalry type of way.

Tell me again then why there's millions of Chinese who pay good money to be smuggled to America, yet I don't see Americans or any westerners going to live in China by the droves unless they have business there.

You've apparently never heard how pissed off the Chinese get then when you mistake them for Japanese. Or the basic cultural genocide of the Tibetan people at the hands of the Han Chinese.

Pakistanis like China because China doesn't like India and has provided them with weapons, it's pretty simple. Actually most of the Muslim world supports the US, including Indonesia, Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Quarter, Bahrain, Jordan, Indonesia, ect are all US allies.

Also speaking of the muslim world and western news sources, how about we just use Al Jazeera as a source then for some articles on China

Guess what man, China has the death penalty for drug smuggling. Also it's not illegal everywhere, in New York it's only a $25 fine to be caught drinking in public. 14 states have decriminalized weed. Bring up Holland, what about negative freedoms, I can carry a gun on me in just about every state, I can also insult whoever the hell I want in a public square, Europe has numerous harsh anti-libel laws as well as restrictions on hate speech.

editing out all the other crap in that post...

perhaps the main reason pakistan "likes" china is that china and india have been enemies for about as long as pakistan and india have?

    duh?

When you factor in the population difference things still look pretty bad for the US.

Quite a few other places do too. The US is not exactly lenient on this issue either.

As for the Great Firewall of China, from what I hear it's pretty easy to get round if you can be bothered.

That's not really particular to the Chinese. What would you say if someone mistook you for a Mexican or something :p.

well, i know some puerto ricans that'd be pretty pissed off :D

i'm guessing that part of why a chinese person might not care to be mistaken for japanese is due to memories of the brutal japanese occupation in the 30s and 40s

i'm guessing that another part would be that the chinese consider themselves to be culturally superior to the japanese

now, i'm not mad about mexico's occupation of texas, arizona, new mexico, utah, nevada, california and southern colorado way back when -- all's forgiven, we stole it fair and square [and bought the little bit we forgot the first time]

and i in no way, shape or form consider myself culturally superior to any mexican, in fact i consider the u$ to be the deadest place in the world, culturally

[interestingly enough, china is near the top of my list]

    so, no offense taken . . .

should note that my feelings about american culture are as much based on sheer boredom as anything else

i should both apologize for and clarify the above post [thinking about american culture makes mush of my head]

i prefer cultures that are somewhat monolithic: chinese culture comes from china, there is local variation, but it's unmistakably chinese

interestingly, the thing i like least about american culture is what makes it most interesting in the context of this thread

burritos and pizza, lenny bruce and bill cosby, coffee and tobacco

    ah, american culture . . .

dont know if there is a point explaining anything to someone with such limited iq like themadcap.
the problem with his responses is that he is citing sources from the bbc, from a country that is involved in aggression against afganistan. dont really see a reason theyd publish something negative about themselves. obviously if the bbc told the truth and revealed that afgans dont want americans or brits there, then the people are going to stand up and demand for a real democracy instead of the fake one we see.
he makes general statements that china is the largest producer of carbon emissions but it seems his dense head is unable to read the original statement by prety that the chinese are producing pollution because of goods made to consume in the west. before western corporations were set up there was virtually no pollution.
the u.s. is also polluting out of wastefulness and ignorance, ie leaving heating, air conditioning, lights on when no one is home.
the media in the western world is indeed quite limited. if you truly took away the restrictions from nato countries on free press, we would see a lot more exposure of u.s. atrocities across the world. take for example the american overthrow of the japanese prime minister recently, and the over throw of the thai pm a few years ago. this wasnt exactly covered by any western media source as far as i know. they definitely did not try to connect u.s. involvement in the overthrow.
doesnt sound like themadcap is very bright. there is a difference between a pupet govt, and an ally. pupet govts such as saudi arabia, and egypt are put in place forcefully by western governments against the will of the people. that is why, although you see the govt of such countries cooperating with the u.s., the people are mostly against it. you have countries like afganistan, and iraq that now have pro u.s. governments put in place by the u.s., based on rigged elections. even though the govt supports the u.s., you can obviously see that the people don't support the u.s., that is why there is a war going on. when real elections do take place, and democracy takes its course, most of the time, they choose to vote against cooperating with the u.s., that is why the u.s. overthrows governments in japan and thailand. difference between china and the u.s. is that both the govt and the people are behind china, whereas if you go on the streets of saudi arabia, most people will not have much good to say about the u.s., whereas if you went into a random super market in pakistan, theyd probably have something nice to say about the chinese. in fact, i heard that chinese people who shop at muslim, or pakistani stores get discounts just for being chinese. i seriously doubt that americans will be getting a discount from pakistani cab drivers any time soon. in now that i think about it, pakistan is also an "ally" of the u.s., as in the u.s. forcefully installed some dictator to run that country, but most pakistanis that i know do not like the u.s.
that is exactly the problem with the u.s.. you can promote racism, and carry a gun, but you cant hire a prostitute, use drugs, or drink on the street. any decent person would support the exact opposite. there is something backward and crooked about american thinking. you can see this in their television shows. they show massive amounts of violence and killing, yet they dont even allow nudity to be shown, something natural.

And like Prety, if you aren't one in the same, you seem to be here for the sole purpose of criticizing America, yet you do not divulge where you are from, or where you are.

Do you even have the guts to tell us what citizenship you hold.

Anonymity is the trademark of a dishonest person, so, why the hell should anyone listen to anything you or Prety have to say? Step up to the plate and tell us where your citizenship lies, they I'll talk to you about your issues.

Unlike some here, I'm not ashamed of where I'm from and my profile contains the customary information with which others can use to evaluate my posts and opinions. I'm not asking for anything more, but when someone comes into a forum for the purpose of insulting an entire nation of people I think it's only fair for them to establish where they are from.

If you believe that my request is unreasonable, fair enough. A simple statement of disagreement without the hyperbole would be enough.

Well at 62 years of age you grew-up in the south during the height of the civil rights movement. You’re probably white and are generally fixed in your ways. Your post WWII parents probably filled your head with visions of patriotism, old glory, and the American way. Growing up you lived by strict rules and guidelines which everyone followed or they were considered a trouble maker. You’re suspicious of outsiders and are protective of the old ways because you fear change

    hotwater,

    do you know jackflash?

have you ever been to the south?

or are you just making assumptions?

perhaps you're a bit prejudiced against southerners?

i don't know exactly what part of new england you're from, but i've met a few bostoners who would've qualified for the klan if it hadn't been so anti-catholic

there are assholes everywhere, and there are good people everywhere

guess which type of people make unfounded assumptions?

    ;)
