I quoted the part I was interested in. The part that needed a little more explanation, imho. I wasn't interested in: 'when i see this thread and the differing opinions i see assholes and likable people on both sides of the argument.' To answer that - I'd agree. But not go as far as 'assholes' - just people who are 'passionate' about their POV - lets say that. ...(ok, a few) I wasn't interested in: 'i guess i realize that the military is meant to protect us from being attacked which is good ' To answer that - I agree.
Maybe nobody responds to your questions, Odon, because they see it's not worth the time and semantical back-and-forth that entails any kind of interaction with you on these forums. Just admit, though, that you have an unwavering love for authority, and the very notion of deception in high places is pretty much unheard of to you. I mean, I could argue with you regarding the Mujahideen vs. Taliban but what's the point, since everyone knows that the Mujahideen essentially was al-Qaeda, just under a different name.
Nobody responds to you odon but I will.... Do you understand what pensfan13 meant with: 'but they are attacking people who might not deserve it which is bad..' 'I mean, I could argue with you regarding the Mujahideen vs. Taliban but what's the point, since everyone knows that the Mujahideen essentially was al-Qaeda, just under a different name.' I don't think you could... 'Essentially'? Edit: This doesn't make any sense: Mujahideen essentially was al-Qaeda I didn't say nobody from the 'Mujahideen' is in theTaliban. But many people from the 'Mujahideen' are now fighting theTaliban. To say the Mujahideen is now essentially the Taliban is scarcely lazy. I guess you are essentially British, right? I guess we are all essentially black, right?
I guess you are essentially British, right? I guess we are all essentially black, right? What did you mean by that?
He ment to make a point by making such generalizations/lumping people in the same group in the same vein Pressed Rat did by using the word 'essentially' which essentially only made the post more vague. It's pretty obvious.
Do you agree or disagree? What do you make of: 'but they are attacking people who might not deserve it which is bad.'
