well, here in my town, there are hicks and stuff, its a southern town... anyway if I went to school and said to someone I am an atheist I would be singled out as a satanist or some shit. Like in class my friend was getting bitched at for being too loud or something, he said Let god strike me with lightning if i was, this christian kid tells him to shutup because he knows it won't happen, i said yeah dude, cause gods a fairy tale. Everyone flips the fuck out dude. Oh you'rre going to hell, your weird blah blah blah.

 

It is hardest when you are young. Young people care what others think about them. Just put this in perspective, if you were black in this last century, and tried to stand up for your beliefs, you would take some major shit from people! It was sanctioned by the government, if Uncle Sam said it was okay, hell then it was. This does not mean it is okay. Uncle Sam is in the religion business (gets votes) so if you have a different point of view, you will just be wrong... plain and simple.This does NOT mean you can not express your opnion! Dissent is the Democratic way, we call it freedom, and soldiers are dying for it. However, it is also a concept that is used and abused by politicians. If the founding fathers only knew!
