I'm absolutely right with you, maiden can't be in this list,as they are of higher level ...they should be compared to metal bands like Black Sabbath,Led zeppelin,Judas Priest,Metallica,Motorhead etc...The line up of Maiden is great with great solos..every maiden songs from the first albums to the last have at least a solo...I like Metallica because they, with maiden, got the best metal albums of all time "Master of puppets" and "Number of the beast" and it's the only band who may be said to be a god... in this list..

Maiden, for the past decade + has been nothing more than weak shit. I'd take new metallica over the new maiden any day.

LONG REPETITIVE BORING SONGS SUCK WITH OR WITHOUT SOLOS.

dickenson's voice is soo shit now, he's lost all of his edge.

Man,for the first time I have to really agree with you,oh it's painful lol..there are only 2 maiden's albums that were as you say weak shit because of the new singer "Blaze Bayley" and their concerts were being quite empty maybe 50,000 fans..when Bruce came back for the "Brave new world album" it's was different..Maiden were back and this album started 5 on the charts and with over 300,000 fans in Rock in Rio concert..then came Dance of Death which is we can say heavier than BNW and very good chart position = 3..then came the last one..surprisingly all songs are progressive and surprisingly Maiden are first in more than 10 countries and this album already got two awards..and Maiden are the first ever metal gruop to be 4th in India..Great job Maiden..Now I've heard that they are doing a 7th son of a 7th son tour on 2008 and this will be the greatest metal event in 2008..no attention will be given to Metallica upcoming album abd it has been said to be crap by their fans itself..Metallideth I'm fed up with this fight so why don't you stop please..I like to make friends and not enemies...If I tell you that Metallica kicked Maiden ass any day would you stop please..What do you think of Master of Puppets and Number of the beast?(don't try to invent a story about Number of the Beast,I've read your previous posts in the other threads and I see that you know a lot about metal and every metalhead knows this album)

For me, Iron Maiden should have stopped making albums after the X-factor. But since other people seem to prefer albums like Brave new world and Virtual11 above Ride the lightning and Master of puppets, I guess it just a different taste matter and at least they're still great live. So I'm glad that they're touring.
I prefer an Iron maiden concert above a Metallica concert anyday, as long as they play mostly old stuff. I'm not bothered by the Eddie mascotte by the way, I think it's good fun actually. I have the feeling Metallica takes it all too serious nowadays and that you can hear that in their music.

The amount of people at a concert / buying the album says nothing about how good the music actually is.

Number of the beast, while quite possibly being one of maiden's best albums, doesn't compare to Master of Puppets.

Metallica just finished off a Master of Puppets album tour, but how does maiden plan to draw attention playing seventh son? shouldn't they play a good album? lol. Perhaps a tour for their self titled would be a better event...

Haha, well, I think 7th son is a superb album. It's among my favourites of Iron Maiden.

Maiden were just going over the peak at that point, preparing for the coming fall.

I would say that the fall came after Fear of the dark..but now both Metallica and Maiden are far from the gods that they were before and they will both do their best to be gods again, don't you agree??

Seems like they do their best, but I also think that they're aware of the fact that they had their best time. Both.

I wouldn't consider anyone to be a god, its not my choice of word.

Both their times have passed. They'll make mediocre to poor music for the rest of their careers, in comparision to their older albums.

p.s. has anyone not noticed that the "big four" were

    Metallica
    Megadeth
    Slayer
    Anthrax

I've liked some Pantera, but I don't know if it was an accident that you left out Anthrax.
