Yes, but this time it is different. RT is much calmer than it used to be, and there are disclaimers in the sticky threads warning new people that they are entering dangerous territory. I haven't seen or heard about any kind of serious libel or slander or violation of privacy going on around here in months. It's just rather ordinary internet drama and silliness. Not a big deal. People who don't like the general feel of RT and keep coming back have no one to blame but themselves. I have a big shovel you can borrow. How many people read those blogs anyway? I doubt if many other than RT regulars are going to click on it. And we already know what it's like here.
Wait, expressing an opinion that we are all douchebags is not the same as simply "expressing an opinion". Still, I vote shitting.
Isn't making a thread to bitch about someone bitching about the forum...you know, pointless? Just sayin', I like the forum fine.
isn't posting in a thread made to bitch about someone bitching about the forum... you know, pointless? pointlessness abounds!!! :willy_nilly:
I work with a woman that bitches about almost everybody she meets without provocation. In the majority of instances, her targets did nothing to deserve one of her cranky lectures or any of her snide comments behind their backs. I used to try to stand up for her targets in the most diplomatic way possible and every time I would always get the following response: "Jesus, who the fuck are you to be telling me what to do? You need to get laid or something. Why are you bitching about me?". Now, going simply by what I've told you (for I could well be an asshole in real life for all you know), who is the villain here? My point is that it always starts somewhere. If you're going to call people out for negative things, your targets have a right to call you out as well. I can understand if a third party gets involved and says, "It isn't worth worrying about", but the idea that by sticking up for yourself (or your clique) you're somehow no better than the other person is just illogical. Its kind of like being contrary and preachy for the sake of it, and a lot of people seem to like to do it on here.
