the story about joseph is not that he thought that he was better than every1 but god saw trhat he was a humble person anda faithful dude,god wanted to bless him for that and to give him leadership over the land,his brothers were offended and envious of him,beause he had wat they wanted but they did not work for it.

I contend that God is 'crap'. 'He' has been the foundation of more wars than any other conception. He has demanded strict adherence despite no actual reward. He has lied to millions in his proclaimation of the existence of an afterlife and the process by which to gain entry.

He has wasted the potential happiness of Billions.

Yes. And about God making crap: God made humans in His image and He saw it was good. unfortunately, humans made a mess of it (and they still do!). God din't make crap, God made something good, and humans go for the crap. just hit any newspaper's front page and you just gotta find something awfull happened - because humans make a mess of it. Just like in genesis.

We, humans, are still beings that are made in God's image. The dissapointing thing is that we are a bit of 'former glory'. This damaged us as beings made in God's image: we have lost much of that. Mankind is not what it was intended to be. It's sinfull. And I do not say this to judge: If I only look at myselve there's more than enough to worry about.

To come back to what arlia said: To follow God is fantastic, 'caus He is good! And about following humans...well, didn't Jesus say that when one blind man leads another, both fall into a ditch?

 

I thought Jesus was half human/half divine - so should we follow only the divine half?

 

The problem here as I see it is that this must lead to a negative self-image. You would have to think of yourself as a sinful being, no matter how much good you did and embodied, and I don't see how you can do this and simultaneously think of oneself, let alone have the experience of oneself, as a child of God.
Also, your view hinges on the idea of original sin, and the Adam and Eve story. But this was written down by humans, and subjected to centuries of copying by more humans. And to-day, many find the story impossible to accept as literal truth.
There's no doubting the evil in people, but the good is there too, in peoples of all religions and races. Does the fact that there is a possibility for evil mean all people are basically evil in their nature? I see no reason to accept this at all.
The idea of 'the blind leading the blind' is very valid, but there are none so blind as those who choose to make themselves so.

 

I think the best message is "I love you. We are different but I love you anyway."

 

yers we are all sinners,but the difference is that in excpeting christ we are freed from sin,the old has gone and behold all things are new....it is as tohugh your sinful being died and god revived u into a new person,the slate whipped clean.im not saying that christinas are perfect and never sin,but its through the grace of god that he forgives us again fro the sins we have commited.nothing can seperate us from the love of god,he will still love us!what is imporatant is that each of us leave the sin and move on to where god is leading us and not become trapped in the tihngs that were,but move forward to what ure destined to become!

our salvation is nothing to do with waht we do,we are saved totaly because of what jesus did,we are living in the succes of his sacrafise

No, I have a heart going out to people, I wanna spend my life serving people, pouring myself out for them and even though egoism and pride in me can stand in the way sometimes, with the love of the Spirit in me, serve I will!

Jesus is not 50% divine and 50% human. He is 100% human - just like us, except not suffering from natural sin, and 100% divine, for He is as much divine as the Father and the Spirit - 100%! He gave His divine priviliges and powers out of hand and left heaven to be here on earth as a human (which didn't make Him less divine) and walked her in obedience to the Father, and filled with the Spirit! That's why He's the ultimate example! Hence those WWJD-bracelets
