Well, all of my information is straight from the DIVA CUP recommendations. I do not know what the mooncup or keeper or instead recommendations are.

    http://www.divacup.com/en/home/faqs/

    Q. What is the lifespan of The DivaCup? When should I replace The DivaCup?
    A. Due to government standards and the personal, hygienic nature of the product, a menstrual cup should be replaced once a year.

and the diva cup in particular is not worn high it is worn at the base of the vag

Also, the diva cup website states the following. .

I tried the moon cup a few months back. I had no problems inserting it but taking it out, I was pinching the rim at the top like the instructions said and it was so painful!..

I just ordered my first gladrags organic pads, so I am thrilled. I have the Diva Cup, but seriously, it is very uncomfortable for me. It hurts me to put it in and take it ou properly. There's no way around it.

i just pinch the bottom of it and pull directly down and out, and it slides right out, breaking the seal as it reaches the end of the vaginal canal. if you try to pull it out by pinching the rim, it can be very painful, as you can pinch your own skin, or just by sticking two fingers PLUS the cup up there... well, that's a lot of stuff to be sticking in the vagina, lol!

i wasn't necessarily talking about the diva cup, because i use the moon cup instead. it's much softer, and is easier to care for. i've had a cup for over 2 years and it's just the same as the day i bought it. i wash it with whatever hand soap is available when i'm emptying it (it's usually dr. bronner's peppermint or tea tree soap), and after each cycle i clean it with baking soda so it doesn't get stinky. the moon cup is MUCH softer than the diva cup, making it WAY more comfortable to wear.

and i get what you're saying about the diva cup (or any cup) being worn lower than the cervix... but my vagina, unless i'm turned on, is not very long. in fact, in order to keep the cup inside instead of sticking out, in which case it rubs on my urethra and HURTS, the only way is to stick it all the way in until it seals directly around my cervix. just the way i'm made i guess.

I hadn't even looked into the Moon Cup yet. I guess I should check my options before I buy. (Preferably before my next cycle starts, this month)

I'm new to the whole diva cup and alternative tampons. i checked out the site, i cant imagine putting that thing in. its huge, do you just insert it and it fills up instead of absorbing like tampons? plus ive had a c-section, im wondering if that would make it harder to use. ????

there's a smaller size and a bigger size. in my opinion, the moon cup is slightly smaller than the diva... it fits me better anyways. and you'd think it's huge, but it's really not that big. someone who's not a virgin should have no trouble, and i know several virgins who were just fine with it. you fold it all up into 4ths before you put it in, you stuff it up there, and it opens up, creating a seal to the vagina wall, and collects the blood. then you dump the blood in the toilet or sink when it's full. voila! :D

no problem! i really love it, and i'm always telling people to try it. it's SO much cheaper... tampons are expensive and SO bad for the environment. plus you get a lot more in tune with your body, and less chance of vag infections. tampons breed bacteria you know.

whats the chances of the cup coming out if you actively doing things, like squating and picking up toys or something? i cant imagine how embarrassing that would be.

they're pretty darned hard to get out, so i imagine that if they're in right the only trouble you'd have is not cleaning it out often enough.

absolutely nada. the only time mine has come even remotely close to coming out (and i still don't think it would) is if i have it in while i'm trying to take a big dump. sorry to be gross, but well... everyone shits, lol! the only time you have to wory about the seal breaking and it leaking is if you don't empty it or if you've got constipation, as the wall between the vaginal canal and the rectum is very thing, and a big old mass in the rectum is gonna cause the vaginal shape to change, thus potentially breaking the seal. but seriously, that very rarely happens.

another added benefit, that i can't believe i forgot to mention already, is that if you're swimming, it doesn't soak up water like a tampon. i always had trouble with my tampon soaking up water, than not being able to soak up the blood, and then i'd have leakage. not so with the cup. it's perfect for all kinds of active stuff. a LOT of athletes use them because they're more comfortable and more leak proof than tampons.

and yes, like KC pointed out, it does take a special way of taking it out, so it really doesn't come out. only if you are pushing down on it does it protrude from the vagina, but again, doubtful it would come out. in fact, to facilitate removing it, i often bear down as though i was pooping, or in labor or something, so that it does come out a bit so i can get a better grip on it. :)

I ABSOLUTELY love this, mama... MUAH.. because ITS TRUE

Really there is no way it is going to come out on its own. Sure as stated above it may protrude slightly at times, but NEVER will it just fall out..

I love the idea but yet I have to admit to having a hard time getting it to work. I have to try it...then rearrange it....then rearrange again,

Could be because I am using A when I should be using B. I had B, but my mate yanked it out in the middle of a hot moment and my dog ate it. When I went back, that is all the store had....but it does still work

    After I have worked it.

yeah, using the wrong size could cause some difficulties i'm sure. i'm still laughing about the fact that the dog ate it. hahaha... that's just funny. not to mention your partner yanked it out for you... my manlover has yet to try that, though i'm sure he'd love to... he's fascinated by the thing, and nothing reduces him to fits of hysterical laughter like hearing it try to creat suction when i'm putting it in. except maybe when i queef really loud on purpose. i'm a queefing queen...

oh I used to do that all the time but have a hard time since giving birth.

anyway.....yeah, it was funny. My partner just pulled it out and blood went everywhere but who cared.

Though i have to admit that i love sex with it in. It adds another layer for me. ANd it never gets fucked up from the penetration.
