Reading some of the earlier answers I wonder if I have confused what was meant by "Mostly hold still but let out a few jabs during orgasm contractions" and "Pump through the orgasm every time".

During sex, what I actually do is exactly what feels like it is instinctual to do which is thrust in as far as possible just before each spurt, i.e. so my cock is in as deep as possible when the spurt happens, then pull out slighly and do it again for the next spurt, continuing until the ejaculation and orgasm are both over. If the orgasm outlasts the ejaculation then I'll still be synchronised with the non-productive contractions at the end.

I assume this refers to masturbation. In my case, even if a session starts with the "I'm horny, need to shoot a load so I can concentrate" feeling I'd never approach orgasm and then reduce the stimulation so I only just go over the edge and can let the drum drip neatly into something. I check how much time I've got, edge for a decent length of time if I can, then stroke right through to the very end to make it as intense and long lasting as possible. When something free feels that good it's good to make the best of it. Also, it's not like cum is something nasty. I can easily wipe it off me at the end with a towel. If it went really wild and got the pillow I can change the pillow case and wash the spotted one. Even the headboard can be wiped.
