men and women both think through electrical signals stimulating their neurons. edit: i also like that the thread is titled "men and woman." it reminds me of some pornos i've seen...
Little guinea princesses especially. Daddy's little girl types. (If anyone's offended by the word "guinea," I am 1/4 Italian myself.)
I think I notice it most with northern, undifferentiated whites. The suburban, middle-American sense of entitlement.
extremely true. for instance, there is a common idea that men are better "navigators" and that their sense of direction is superior. men and women, as a vast generalization, conceive of space differently. men tend to think more of an overhead maplike view when giving/interpreting directions, and women tend to be more comfortable using landmarks to describe the path. i.e., a man might say "take sunbury rd to county line and turn left. go west on county line until you reach state st and turn right. go north on state st until you get to the town of sunbury" whereas a woman may more likely say "get on sunbury rd and go left, and keep going till you see the bridge on the right and the kindercare on the left. turn left there, it should be county line road (if you turn right you go over the bridge and that's smothers, and you don't want to go that way) and keep going until you get to the big intersection with the catholic school and nikou and what looks like a park on the left. that's state street and you'll want to turn right there and just keep going straight and in about 10-15 minutes you'll be in the town of sunbury." this is a case of stereotype based in reality. men do tend to think more in terms of maps and women do tend to think more in terms of landmarks and descriptions of the surrounding environment. that said, both ways of viewing it are equally valid and likely to get you to the place well enough, if understood and followed correctly. men don't really have a significantly better sense of direction, as far as i understand it. a neuroscience professor demonstrated the "superior" sense of direction by asking everyone to point north based on what position we were facing in the room. some people were slower than others. the first to point out north correctly was male, the next was female with a lag time of maybe three seconds. this is, as he described, pretty normal and the difference in time it takes to determine such things is so minimal it's not truly worth considering.
mhmmmm. not only that man and woman think differently in general, but the seperate individuals think way differently from one another. so it is prety impossible and stereotypical to separate man thoughts from womans thoughts.
I didn't give sufficient shit to read this thread. women spend their adolescence being cruel to each other. men spend their adolescence being "Bro's" and\or hitting each other the cruelty produces a more labyrinthine mind the labyrinthine mind is reinforced by estrogen (estrogen is good for multi-tasking) to make women good at being mothers men get testosterone so we're better at obsessing (so we can go after that one herd of buffalo for weeks, and bring back a shit ton of food)
The idea that men and women think differently is a myth perpetrated by the white patriarchy to keep bitches down. Right on.
then why do male cryptographers break more systems but die yound but women cryptographers end their careers early, and then go have families (and then let their husbands have a different career, or do more work, and die young)
Because of what is expected of them. I'm just running with the feminist perspective in order to troll, don't take me seriously. Personally, I try not to have an opinion on matters like these.
