Nice thread.. I never really believed in meditation, i did get kinda interested in it before, but whenever i would try it, i would get nowhere, i just would close my eyes and try fully relaxing and stuff and i just thought to myself man this crap is pointless. I would just get the same thought pattern that i have always been used to and have already explored most of my mind already in the past.
Being a humble psychic enthusiast, i have thought about meditation again. I just hope i don't get the same outcome as before. I found the first few posts really aweing, i especially liked introspecters ideas. mabey following their ideas will give me a bigger push to where i need to be.

I use this one technique, it's really an ancient Kriya technique and it's what Krishna meant when he said to inhale while you exhale and exhale while you inhale.
but you breath deep and slow as usual, except while you're inhaling, you mentally exhale light, and while you exhale, inhale light. eventually, you should be doing deep breathing without any attention towards the physical body, and should actually be using your spiritual vehicle.
it should be just like meditation, except you'll be using your mind's eye/third eye and you're mind will allow your body to get some real rest and that's where things get interesting.

if you meditate I really think its kind of almost dumb to do it for 10 or so minutes and then just forget about it...the point of meditation is to live in the state of bliss so that you can apply it to your life and the people around you...I try to do it in my free time even when I'm just standing there at work at the cash register or if I'm on the bus, or just waiting for something to happen.

What the hell? How do you inhale and exhale at the same time? I only know how to do one at a time are you making that up?

i feel archemetis is talking about inhaling physically while exhaling mentally, and vice versa

it makes me think of the main characters in Tom Robbin's Jitterbug Perfume, who had perfected the breathing techniques of the Bandaloop tribe and thereby attained immortality.....i love seeing it talked about here in a "real" set and setting :)

this is the secret to doing it properly. not making it a planned thing ,that you have to change clothes into, at a certain time, in a certain way . . . make it organic. meditate while fucking.
