Man, I'm gonna switch to Linux the second it can start running EA Sports games.

 

I dunno man. I've got a stick up my ass about apple. I'm sure all their stuff is quality, and I like Jobs, but iPod users and commercials are just so pretentious, snobby and dumb. fucking U2 and Bono. iPods are too cool for me, the name is even cool and trendy with its meaninglessness and lower case "I."

if you want an alternative to iPods that isn't a shitty mp3 player with a stone age interface, you might check out some of the Creative Zen models.

edit: oh dear, I see you're a fan of EA. there might not be hope for you, then.

I was going to get a Zen, but the iPod eBay deals were much better, I really need an mp3 player for work, and I'm poor... it all works out.

(I've been playing NBA Live ever since it came out on PC... only video game together with the Civilization series that I play... I have to stay true to EA for that one)

And my mp3 player doesn't have to be an iPod. I just really like the scroll system.

 

Yeah, you really can't beat the simplicity of an iPod.

I was first gonna get a Toshiba something something, but I read the reviews, and it seemed like you'd have to break your ass just to get a song to play right.

The Ipod makes it all too easy and convenient.

 

Man I want an Iphone.

You can put custom firmware on there. That's a lot of fun right there.

My phone however, makes and receives calls and text messages, which is all I need it for.

It's not baller, but I'll manage.

Winamp for music and most movies.. VLC and media player classic for what won't play in winamp.

 

im not a huge mac fan...but i will say the iphone, the ipod touch and the macbook air are fucking sick little toys...OSX is pretty sweet too...i like how its built on the UNIX kernal...C/C++ right out of the box hell yes...

It's only slow when I open itunes though. And I run adware and spyware checks often enough.. I don't think I have a bunch of it on my computer.
and i doubt you'll be coming over anytime soon unless you want to be bombarded with questions by my parents..haha

 

release 10 of the one that came with windows worked just fine, but finnally letting myself get conned into the 'upgrade' to 11, is and was totally fucked. i am indeed now looking for alternatives. good ones that are just as free and won't screw anything else up.

i'd forgotten all about winamp, i suppose i may try it.

basically i need something that will behaive itself in the background, not screw up the sound of legitimate freebees, which media player 11 has been doing, not the files perminently, thank whatever ghodz, just while its playing them. if i put them on a cd and play them in a regular cd player they still play just fine.

but not something that will take over the system. playing audio and even video files is not the end all and be all of what i use the computer for, not even close, but my wife likes to have them on to listen to while the screen saver slide show is running, which is, of course, whenever i'm not actually doing anything on it. either creative or on line.

i don't give a dam about whatever kind of wierd crap it looks like, although i do like the digital pavans media player plays until the random sequence of the nearly 15,000 images i've collected from all over the net, of the kind of world, how it would be, could be, should be, that each, however out of context, is an example and proof that it could and can, takes over command of the screen.

winamp has always sounded like a bunch of gratuitous crap to me, but with media player fucking things up, i'm willing to CONSIDER anything.

if i have to buy anything, i might just as well get another cd player for the living room where the computer is and not try to listen to anything actually on the computer, other then audible cues from programs that are useful to me, at all.
