Sorry, did you say you didn't like Dalwhinnie! Maybe you should just buy a bottle of caustic fluid, that might be what you need. Otherwise, Talisker and Laphroag is what ya want. Also recommend Glenfiddich Caoran blend, one of my personal favourites.
its great! very, very delicious, sweet aged rum. its owned by patron, but way better quality than patron. definitely sipping rum, not something for shots or mixed drinks. maybe a few ice cubes, but otherwise sip it straight. honestly, i will never buy it in indiana though. in much of the country its 40-50 bucks a bottle. here its 35, so its a little cheaper. back in columbus ohio i can get a bottle for 24 bucks, though. i'll pick some up on thanksgiving or christmas break maybe
EXACTLY! That is what I am saying, the single malts are over priced touristy whiskeys. They are very good, but you can get a good enough blend for a third of the price of them usually.
no! i said i didn't say i didn't like dalwhinnie! doh.... let me start over. i bought dalwhinnie. and i liked it - i really liked it. but it wasn't what i was in the mood for at the time. i like it still and would drink it again, but it was like maybe only the third bottle of scotch i'd tried? i generally prefer something with a stronger peat flavor. it was good. but i thought it was a little overpriced, and i was disappointed because it wasn't what i wanted at the time. if i were rich and could provide myself with a well stocked at-home bar, i would definitely have a bottle of it on hand. another thing is i often enjoy my whisky with a cigar, and i need a more flavorful, robust whisky to prevent the smoke overpowering my ability to taste the drink. i like them to be about even, and i usually smoke rather full bodied cigars
i dont know. there are far more brands and characters in the single malts available to me, and the good ones i can appreciate for wonderful complexities and nuances i dont -usually- get with the blends that i've tried. i prefer single malts in general because i get more variety that way, but they are too expensive to drink all the time
Someone said the 80's, and now I'm onto listening to A Flock Of Seagulls, you know I'm drunk when that happens.
