The site is great. Uplifting African Americans.

I remember when the quarter-pounder took up 2 spots on there menu. One with cheese, one without.

Remember Pulp Fiction? Hamburger Royale is a quarter pounder because of the metric system.

I stabbed McDonald's in the heart the day I became a vegetarian.

They can keep their salads to themselves as well.

To be fair, I would like to add that McDonalds has done some good in the world.

    http://www.rmhc.com/

    Perhaps their greatest accomplishment.

McDonald's happens to be supporters of the NAACP. so it's not really surprising they'd make such a website. blacks are said to have one of the highest rates of not only heart problems, but diabetes as well. if they really do like McDonald's that much. i can understand why they'd have such abnormal rates of heart problems and diabetes.

everyon has a right to be proud of their heritage. i just don't see how it requires McDonald's or a (insert here) history month in order to validate that. as far as black history month goes, morgan freeman doesn't believe that there even should be a black history month. because black history is a part of american history. but no matter how many opportunities any group of people are given. atleast a few of them will feel the need to be professional victims and whiners. blacks would be more productive to do something about black on black crime, as opposed to whining about racist whites. because there's more violence commited against blacks by other blacks than by other racial groups in america. we all have inherent differences that shall always remain intact. some of these differences will inevitably cause confusion, frustration and suspicion. but i see no real reason why we shouldn't attempt to get along better and respect each others differences. but let's not kid ourselves, if there were a white history month or white entertainment television. someone would shout racism, and most likely the first two people to shout it publicly would be jessie jackson and al sharpton. i don't think either of those two or people like them really want racism to end or for there to be any sort of racial equality. because they'd be out of work very fast if racism did come to an end.

what about when kosher jerks point out other people's racism in order to skirt the issue of their own people's racist history? it certainly isn't regular old caucasions who refer to blacks as shwarzers. nor was it white people who concieved of the racist idea of the curse of ham and then turned around to use it in order to justify the enslavement of africans. i'm not denying that whites often are racist. but as a white person i'm tired of how the bulk of racisms weight has been placed on white people's shoulders. as if this entire mess is ALL our fault. when that is hardly the case.

I'm all for black history-- I think it should be implemented into the existing curriculum with all kinds of Uni courses and public school courses as well... because then there wouldn't be a need for black history month (I think that's what Morgan Freeman was getting at). Honestly, most people are so ignorant it's ridiculous.. heaps of black people out there don't even know about their OWN heritage. How are you supposed to feel a sense of self-worth if your education system completely ignores your heritage or tells you 'you were slaves, then the white people set you free, and then someone shot Martin Luther King' as if that's the beginning, middle and end of your history?

The fact is that every single race on this planet is racist. Black people are racist. Asians are racist. Middle Eastern people are extremely racist. Northern Europe is racist. Indigenous peoples of North America are racist. Only the white western world seems to feel guilty about it though, because they're on top right now... so instead of wanting more power in society, they feel guilty about having it, and what they had to do to get it. But they're also convinced that they're on top because they are best. And they're racist.

All of this stems from the fact that everyone think their way is the best way, and even if you learn about someone else's culture and learn their language and understand everything about them, it's almost impossible to fully integrate yourself into it. The only culture in the world that's actually even close to being universally open is American culture... or if Canada had a culture, maybe it would be open to.

Ku Klux Klan ? Brown v. Board of Education ? Assassination of Malcolm X and Dr. Martin Luther King Junior ? One drop rule? 3/5 's clause ? Isaac Woodward ? Tom Coleman ? The countless Islamic and eastern Asian stereotypes ? The afrocentric movement and pan-africanism?

The USA has got to be one of the most culturally and religiously intolerant countries in the world.

You do have a point when you say that all ethnic (saying race would suggest that we are different species because of skin color) groups are guilty of something. But you don’t need to generalize every person in each ethnic group buy saying they’re racist. I’m black and I’m not racist. I know several people of several ethnic groups who truly aren’t racist. On the other hand I live in South Carolina and I know people who are full of hate and prejudice. Black , White , and Hispanic.

I learned about my Geechee/Gullah culture since I was born. I spent half my childhood on the island with my grandparents. On top of that it was mandatory that I learned about the real history of Africa. About how the ancient Greeks and Romans , that make history teachers wet in the undies , learned everything they know from the ancient Egyptians. About the first multi-genius named Imhotep. Hannibal of Carthage. The sub-Saharan empires like the Zulu’s lead by Chaka. The Sphinx that was partially destroyed by Alexander the great when he saw that it resembled an African because of its thick lips and flat nose.

But who the fuck eats McDonalds anyway? That shit is so unhealthy.

if blacks want to know about black history. perhaps they should read a book or two? that's a simple enough concept, one that hardly requires having a month in honor of yourself. black history is often presented with an agenda of black supremacy. hence the reason why certain activists cried out loud when a leading egyptologist said there's no historical basis for ancient egypt being a black civilization.

Tutankhamun was not black: Egypt antiquities chief

    Sep 25, 2007

far too often history is not written about from a neutral viewpoint, this practice needs to stop. but getting back on topic, if we are to have black history month we might as well have holidays that celebrate everyone else's heritage and history. i mean let's be fair about this, to have a history month for one group of people and nobody else sends mixed signals that while we are all important. some people are just more important than others are. i for one certainly don't see my people as being of anymore importance than anyone else. i just don't see why we need to have an actual month that is federally mandated, so that some people can feel less inadequate about themselves. i don't see any reason why anyone should get a whole month to celebrate their own race and culture, meanwhile during that month everyone else's culture and race takes a backseat. are blacks really so much more important than everyone else that they should get an entire month celebrating their heritage?yet nobody else is entitled to one? this makes null and void an idea that many people believe in. equality. how can we even begin to be equal if only one race gets a month to honor it's past? that's not equality. then again i don't think such a concept ever did exist. if it did inherently exist, nobody would be fighting for such a thing.

Well to be honest , most history classes teach white history. Why not learn about black history ? Is it insinuating ethnic supremacy to acknowledge the history of the first people to walk the land where hominids (and all other life) originated? Besides , why not learn about the people who were an essential part in the rise of this country ? Personally i'm not an advocate for any ethnic history month , and i'm really not a nig fan of the USA's public schools. But what's so bad about black history month ?

because it takes the stance that black history is more important than any other section of world history. if you are not a fan of any ethnic history month, you'd probably see what's wrong with this. why must everyone else take a backseat during february, just so one race can feel more important than anyone else? i mean isn't being forced to take a backseat something blacks fought against? :) actually most history classes teach history in general. unless of course it is specified that a certain part of history is solely being taught.

Interpreting it as a superiority thing or a matter of "being more important" is an individual thing.

Where was i using double speak ? I'm not into using excessively contrived rhetoric to get my point across.

Anyway , my post , verbatim , said that i am "not an advocate of any ethnic history month , and I'm not really a big fan of the USA's public schools "

Did that mislead you ? When I said i'm not an advocate , that means i don't/didn't go out of my way to support it and voice my opinions about it. I mean that i am impartial to it.

On the other hand , what i said i wasn't a fan of is the USA public schools. I used this to express my disagreement with the practices of public schools ni this country. Nowhere in my post did I say i wasn't a "fan of any ethnic month". I don't know where you read that.

No, that would probably be somewhere in the Middle East, or Africa, or Northeast Asia. In certain parts of Africa, a white person can be killed for not giving a black person their farm (not selling, not trading, GIVING), and the government will say it's okay.

If you can name a country that's more publicly concerned about its own racism and has more different cultures mixing together inside its borders then I might agree with you. Growing up, there were heaps of children's entertainment programs concerned with promoting equality among the sexes and races, and accepting and understanding difference as well. The radicals on the right are only highly vocal minorities.

For all of those negative things you've named, there must be countless positive examples to back them up-- not the least of which is Barack Obama. Media portrayals are definitely getting more open-- there are shows on TV which show no reservations about having respected black men in positions of power, with white people working under them... and these are popular shows like 24.

The conditions that a lot of minorities endure has less to do with existing racism and more to do with a 'vicious cycle', wherein the minority races have been taught how to oppress themselves... and they continue to do so out of hopelessness, peer pressure, negative self-mage etc.

Everyone is concerned with putting their own first... it's human nature. On the other hand, teaching acceptance and tolerance, and even more important coming to actually understand what it means to be equal and free... is something that most other nations don't even attempt.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not trying to be pessimistic. The USA is headed down a path to better race relations. My point is simply that just because we portray a betterr world on TV and are beginning down that path , doesn't mean we have already reached the destination.

My point wasn't that American is a shangrila of peace-loving white people either, but that in a world that's brimming with racism, it's actually doing rather well.

by saying you aren't a fan of ethnocentric history months, then turning around and saying you are fine with black history month. what's so difficult about comprehending that?

Because saying i'm not an advocate of any ethnocentricities doesn't mean i'm against it. If you read my posts carefully you would see that i was saying that I'm impartial to any ethnic history month. And by impartial i man that i really could care less if it does or doesn't exist. Being impartial doesn't mean i have to go on some tirade about why it shouldn't exist. The thing i said i wasn't fan of is the US's public schools. Does that clear it up for you?

Or do you still see fit to reciprocate and abridge what I said. I really hope I don't have to explain it again. I really hope your not being this non sequitorial on purpose.
