Yes, the doctors I've gone to, yes I most certainly think that. The ones that I went to once and never ever saw again probably were the ones that thought like you do.

I am not gonna work in a private practice.
And if I was, I'd have so many patients.

Okay, this has totally gone the wrong way.
I was just expressing my opinion, which is not wrong. just like yours isnt wrong.
And I am actually a nice person, believe it or not.

no, not really. the last doctor i had in the States, i saw for over 6 years and he was brilliant. he actually treated you like a human being and even saw me free of charge when i didnt' have health insurance. i switched to him after being with someone who i think held Piaf's views of people. *eeps*

btw, nice to see you back around, KC. you went quite silent for awhile. :)

if you express a point of view, however; especially if you come across sounding quite snooty and high-browed about it, you have to expect to get some banter back.

and actually i do think your opinion is quite wrong. for the reasons i gave in my previous post, which like KC's you chose to ignore.

If McDonalds is handing out diplomas, the hell with formal education.
Diplomas are suppose to be earned. And it sucks if you have to earn it at McDonalds.
So hey, lets all have diplomas.

OMFG, j, pay attention!! NO ONE getting a "diploma" from mcdonalds is going to have a doctorate for pete's sake. they're going to have a specialized field of business management (which will require more of them that just working the fries machine and getting pimples). consider it more an apprenticeship. things are a lot easier for some people to learn in a preactical setting than in an academic setting.

we have a family doctor who's wonderful. he does have a tendency to chew me out for my bad behaviors. then he tries to guilt me out, then he tries to charm me, then he gets annoyed again. it's like goin to mommy with a boo-boo. my family doctor before that i'd been going to for eleven years. he was WONDERFUL. he sent me a wonderful gift for my wedding and put my picture up in his office. he attended the whole family. his son, also a doctor, is the one who helped me to leave my boyfriend at the time and start a new life. i knew all the nurses in teh office, i knew all the secretaries and how to work around them. i never had to wait for my appointments because i could call jenny at the front desk and have her sign me in early.

and he knew me so well and for so long that he never worried about prescribing me anything. he gave me a bottle of valium once when i was freaking out over working 3 jobs and going to school, and i took it back, because it made me sleepy. lol. i was his favorite patient. i should just go by to visit sometime, but he'll probably chew my ass for gaining weight.

Well, it makes saying "I have an A-level" meaningless if it needs to be said where the A level is from since all A-levels can no longer be said to be anything approaching equal, and can include either vocational training or a strictly academic subject. If it were a vocational qualification like a BTEC or an NVQ an employer would instantly know the type and level of skills training invloved, as it is it introduces an underhand class system which invalidates, or at least muddies the water, of the standard of academic qualification. The same thing has happened with degrees since the university shakeup of the late 80s and 90s, it's no longer of any value to say you have a degree, or even a first; it matters far more where it's from.

But is it more noble to be supporting a company causing so much damage to this planet and many people all over the globe, being a cog in their machine, being a part of SUCH widescale pollution, destruction of precious rescources, cruelty, ugliness, endangering peoples health etc, and to work with distaste...or to not support it and do nothing?

I know which one i would choose, and most certainly not for selfish reasons. Its not because im "snobby" or anything, it just seems like common sense. I would find the job nasty but if it was doing no harm to anyone else id take it if i had to. The fact is, in my eyes, it would be a negative action rather than a positive one when looking at the bigger picture. I want my actions to be positive. I realise this cant possibly happen all the time, but when the choice is a bit of dole money or being a Mcworker, i know which i believe to be the most respectable

This is different for everyone though of course. Just thought id put my opinion out
