Went off on a rant there a bit off the topic- is the world shifting yep it has already started a while ago, is 2012 going to be the end of the world? no its going to be the end of a world we have become accustom too. Thank goodness for that hey! Some people will not be able to cope with the shift and for them it wil be the end..Others it is the beginning... This is only my opinion from what I have learnt, my truth is not necessary yours!
yes, as pointed out already, the discrepancy is known among mayans, calendar buffs and scholars - mostly I thought it looked like a "dont freak out" article for the population in general... and a great way to try to figger out the posting of news articles What I liked best about the article was the fact that when the world doesnt end in 2012 as predicted it WASNT the fault of the Mayans, who obviously are going to be correct in their predictions - but the fault of ourselves for failing to do the math properly! (math was never my strong class either lol ) The bias of our logical western mind to want a day to be special for its numerology can be a very strong factor in a society group mind. Of course its stupid, but it goes to show just how deep numbers work on the subconscious.
I've just started recently reading about the 13 moontime. Actually, i first heard about it in 2012: The Return of Quetzalcoatl. I'm in love with the idea of living life from a new calendar...
Well I'm still looking forward more to December 21st 2012 than i am the 25th or the 31st lol nobody can take that away from me.
Have you got your intergalactic passport? its a decoder for your mayan birth glygh a cooler name for it tho dont u think! look up your birthdate for your glyph its a good starting point also buy a calender to follow the moons and wave spells - Im not one for books and stuff but there are plenty out there.. It a brilliant journey one that will change your life for the better! http://www.icandosomething.com/mayancalendar/
Ya know feck the calender and the French guy altho he has got global warming right which is what i was geting to. The way the weather is lots of people huge numbers more than the past are going to die becose of "global warming" its more global freezing to me plus earth quakes and that type of stuff is happening more, the world isent going to end now or the near future and humans arnt going to die out either,we are liveing in a shit age though, global terrorists, state terrorists, global warming, new heath threats/flu's and so on,people in the future are going to look at this period in time the way we look at the crusades, the Mongols or the ww's *oh..imagein being around then...must have been shit* Lots of people will die BUT life will go on...its gona be a shit life though lol
I'm setting up a vast new internet casino where we'll be giving ten to one odds to anyone who wishes to place a bet that the world is going to come to an end on 12 - 21 - 2012. You send me $10 USD betting that the world will come to an end, and if you're right, than I will send you $100 USD within 48 hours of your winning. If you bet $100 your pay back would be $1,000. Sound like easy money? Bet me.
Yea it is total nonsense. As if someone in the future found a sports illustrated calender and concluded that since it stops on December 31st that is when we thought the world was going to end as opposed to it being new years eve.
Glad to hear the 'news.' Personally I am tired of being scared of the end of the world. Having grown up in the local library reading about the end of the world in Sci-Fi novels of the '50s and '60s, survived the 7th Day Adventists predictions, the Y2K fiasco, the Heaven's Gate farce, Waco's Wackos, and more assorted pranks of this nature I have come to dis-believe in them all. I do feel mankind may be fouling its own nest dramatically and disgustingly, but have faith in humans ability to survive against all odds. The survival instinct is very strong in humans. That doesn't mean that I don't believe some kind of mass sea-change, extinction process, or cathartic cleansing of the planet is NOT in our future, I just don't think that it can be predicted based on some historical figure's prophesy of doom and gloom. Well maybe the gloom, but not the doom - I have a thing against believing the rantings of fundamentalists preaching fire and brimstone. It is all toooooo amusing.
