marijuana is gonna be legal!

Umm actually an oz. of pot is technically legal to have for an adult 21 years or older in Denver. It was voted on in the last elections. Its still kinda foggy what that means though because its illegal by federal laws still. I think since that law was passed a lot fewer people have gotten in trouble with pot, but you still can get charged with possesion. Well... its a step in the right direction anyways! Some other cities around have put possesion of pot at the "lowest level of importance" which i guess means that they arent going to go looking for people, etc. Well with all these laws coming around, who knows?! It could be legal soon!

 

Yea there was this big thing right after it was passed because this guys thought it was legal to have it, so when he got pulled over he just told the cop he had some and got arrested, the guy did end up getting the charges dropped, but i think the whole situation kinda confused everyone.

 

It takes the people to make it happen folks!

As a journalist with my ear to the ground, I feel it coming you guys, it's going to happen if we stand up and get behind the movment. The movement is way underway are you going to be a part of the progress?

Why complain, try to do something about it.

The law enforcement on the ground, now with the huge crisis of meth, they are learning more and more what not a problem marijuana is. Our local chief of police said, 75% of calls they get are alcohol related, "society decided to not accept marijunana, but we did accept alcohol, so that's what we're left dealing with."
The ones that know anything know the reports from domestic violence shelters that marijuana decreases violence.

More and more it's becoming more accepted, but it's up to the marijuana supporters to follow it through and make it happen.

No one's going to do if for you. All of our rights someone has had to fight for them, they weren't just handed to us. Though we may only learn about the bosses wars in traditional school, there are many other wars fought in each of our towns and cities by our fellow workers and community.

 

Unfortunately, the US government would have to admit it has locked up tons of people over something idiotic first.

yeah, pride is such a major factor in this whole thing too. personally, i'm with those that just want it decriminalized... I don't care if it's not the same as alcohol, hell, i wouldn't want to lose a lot of the underground culture that weed has... but decriminalization would make a lot of people's lives much, much better.

I think Denver isn't legal. From what I read, the people voted for the local government to de-criminalise it, but the federal government or whatever threw out the law. Might be wrong though.

Sure, I have faith.. but you cant expect me to believe that congress will just drop everything and say "fuck it, lets make it legal". Please LOOK UP the definition of LEGAL. Like someone said before, stop fighting a losing war and just shoot for decriminalization (which means reduced penatlies, etc), and MAYBE, just MAYBE in that time people will realize the threat is too small to keep illegal.
