All this says is that heroin was your gateway drug. Who is to say what drugs are 'hard' or 'soft'? its the user, not the drug. IT led you down a path to weed. (which, btw, is much better than starting with pot and moving to heroin. ha)
The first "drug" I tried other than liquor was LSD. I did not smoke pot until years later. Gateway my ass. Yes, I do agree though that because you buy your weed from a "drug" dealer it's easy to find other drugs to try.
I have been smoking for 42 years. Tried LSD, Opium, Cocaine, and Hash back in the late 60s but since then nothing but pot. As far as addiction goes I have had no problems when I had to quit smoking for weeks at a time for work purposes. I am now retired so I don't worry about it.
Just because you did lsd first does not mean it isn't a gateway drug... Even if you did every other drug and never touched pot, that doesn't mean its not a gateway drug.
what a waste of bandwidth this thread is... thanks for the info though OP now run off back to 1953 and spread the gospel!
Even though it is a plant and it alters your mind and is a drug it doesn't mean its a gateway drug... Most people that do other drugs most definatly do it because of curiosity or they just want to do it. Theres still drugs i would like to try and it has nothing to do with smoking weed...
lol get out. The whole world drinks and alcohol makes people far dumber and I've yet to see the Earth implode on itself. Also, more money is made with marijuana being illegal. It's supply and demand, economics 101. Being illegal automatically jacks up the price and lowers supply. Like how many people reading this right now have a vested financial interest in keeping marijuana illegal?(i.e. how many people here deal weed)
what's wrong with being a gateway drug? isn't anything that you have a positive experience with a gateway drug? my first "drug" was DXM after my then boyfriend really pissed me off, which made me want to smoke weed, and then smoking weed made curious to try other shit
I think the ultimate "gateway drug" (if there is such a thing) would be baby aspirin. Most people are introduced to drugs through aspirin as a child. You notice the positive effects that a drug has on you and make your choices after that.
i agree entirely with the fact that it is a gateway drug, however i disagree with the opinion that it leads to other drug use. marijuana is a gateway into the drug community, it puts you in contact with those who have access to other drugs, but it does not cause you to want to do other drugs, it just makes them available to you.
