I think it's a great plan, but intstead of waiting until you're out of high school, why not go ahead and start your revolution now? You could start by getting your freinds and neighbors interested in your plan, and by the time you graduate you have should enough followers to take the world by storm. Like I said, it's a great idea and I'll do whatever I can to help, and I'm sure there are alot of other people on this forum that would volunteer as well. If there is anything I can do, you can email me at sixteen53@yahoo.com.
In order to enact a revolution you need to learn how to think first. Here is my strict and earnest advice buddy. Don't do too many drugs, while they may on occassion help you learn things about yourself and have fun, they generally make you deluded and stupid and think possible all kind of things that aren't. They don't really encourage you to act either. I also urge you to ask the question: "Why would I want to resurrect something that ultimately failed?". Lastly, use every possible moment to read, learn to know yourself and the world and how it all works and how we can dismantle it in favour of a better world, perhaps use school and university to educate yourself...no that wasn't last...lastly, as a self realised human, you're far above simply copying what a bunch of hippies did 40 years ago. Anyone is capable of better and I suggest in order to get people listening to you, come up with something original.
exactly - the power of thinking is the true revolution - why do think so much effort is spent controlling what we think?
I like the idea, however it seems like you want more than you have the power to do. YOU alone cant change the world. It has to be a large change in human thought, and i honestly dont beleive that you, a single human being can change the mass conciousness of the people nowadays. Their has to be something bigger, on a larger scale, than you just playing music, because honestly most people dont like good music now. Its great that you want to change the world, and that you have the confidince, and true admiration for what the hippies did, but not the beatles, or anyone else, created the revolution, there were so many diffrent aspects to it. besides the fact that alot of shit they did wasnt perfect, try and create something new, use the hippies idea as a basis. my advise is learn all you can, create revolution in yourself, and when the world is ready, you can come along to help them with the physical revolution, but first there must be a mental, and sadly that might take awhile.
Being completely honest, i have no idea how to put music on the computer. I made a tape of some of my songs, but that was on a personal tape-recorder. I'd love to share some lyrics, though This one I wrote for John Bonham. Enjoy I guess September's here to stay Sweet summer's passed away Leaving us with This blustery autumn wind Hanging over the day. Did you lie there all alone Curse the sun that never shone Watching the day Slowly drift away While your spirit wept in the rain On a cold September day. Did you ever stay awake Try to think of better days When you were always on the move There was nothing else to do A restless spirit in a crowded place. How you liked to make them smile It kept you happy for a while Never felt alone Until you dreamt of home Longing just to rest your weary head On a cold September day. And we tried to turn back time Curse the sun that failed to shine Forsaken on the way One cold September day No healing words to mend our broken hearts. It's been a long, long while Since your light has made us smile It's woven into time The world is soon to find The summertime is not so far away The summertime is not so far away. And this one is an anti-war anthem. Can't you see what we're doing here? Can't you see? Hey! Open up your eyes! All the tears and mortal cries And all the fear before another one dies Is there an end to this game we play? Is this the dawning of another red day? Nothing they say can make it right We tend the fire that fuels this endless fight I want the truth behind the cries Who hides behind the lies? I want the truth behind those eyes That harbor so much pain... Everyday it gets colder here And everyday we grow older from the wear Frozen souls reap bitter tears Stilling hearts and waking fears The sun that gleams off silver blade Shines on those marked as the price now paid And all their dreams, thrust to the sky There's no time to grieve, no time to say goodbye I want the truth behind the cries Who hides behind the lies? I want the truth behind those eyes That harbor so much pain... Can't you see what we're making here? Can't you see? Hey! Open up your eyes While desperate feet lie chained and bound Or bloody hands keep raising up the mounds Don't you know what we're drowning in? Tell me, in the end, who really wins? An overflowing well of hate We bear the poison from it running through our veins! I want the truth behind the cries Who hides behind the lies? I want the truth behind those eyes That harbor so much pain... They bury the photographs and truths behind And hanting memories hid deep within their minds Well, no excuse can uncry the tears Unbreak the hearts and fill the lonely years We can do this till we end But things won't be alright Don't you know we'll never mend When love is cast aside? Stop what you're doing; take the blame Can't you see? Oh! Have you no shame? We've got what it takes to make it right Unveil our darkened hearts and shrod them in the light And we can make it till the end Things will be alright If you give it time to mend Things will be just fine Can't you see what we're doing here? Can't you see? Hey! Open up your eyes It's time we end this game we play And birth the dawning of a better day!
just because he says woodstock, doesnt mean that it has to be exactly like woodstock. it could just be a big music festival, with good music. and as for being orginal, woodstock wasnt really orginal it was just the biggest out door music event, not the first.
I don't want it to be just a really great concert. I want it to be a spiritual experience of peace and freedom.
care if i join in with this revolution and i agree that music is the real drug and i agree we will need alot of acid
Thats a great idea you have, but I also agree we need some real music these days to unite people. (your lyrics seem good,Id like to hear a song if you could)
you have the right spirit, just don't let anyone bring you down,be realistic and keep doing your stuff you seem to me more of a woodstock fan than a leader of revolutions.the flower power ideeas are great, but many people are stupid and dismiss them as old and failed without a good analysation.you need to disguise them.don't be a 60's immitation, make a good vibe music, but also make the people love your music you'll need a lot of coffee. spreading the word, organising events, making yourself noticed and so on takes a lot of energy. good luck and don't fall to hard.there's always a way and nothing is easy.
I plan to make great music first. Music makes the world go round, and rock 'n roll is the most inspiring form of music. I can touch hearts.
Hippies in the 60's became obsolete through introducing Heroin into their culture They also adopted a pseudo christian attitude of passifism and hence changed nothing but the art world. Anarchy took care of all that marxist rubbish they chanted back then. Join the real world join the anarchist anticapitalist movement and declare yourself an individual- John Lennon couldnt even get out of bed for a revolution he was so stoned
obsolete may be too strong a word, although im sure many of them started to fel that way when we left vietnam. herion sure did a number on any respect they had earned protesting im sure that was funny, i bet he woulda laughed about it in his younger days, not at that time though. when the anchor guy ask him about the "bigger than jesus" thing i was embarrassed for him
I'm in favour but y is every thing about music i don't like a lot of "good music" you talk about i like kaiser chiefs, franz ferdinand, 80's punk, football songs ITS NOT ABOUT THE MUSIC ITS ABOUT THE VIBE, and for any pessimist saying u alone can not change the world u can and i'm gonna do my bit
the bed thing john lennon proposed was smart. if milions of people decided to just drop aout and stay in bed untill hunger made them do something, the whole sistem would have received a serious blow. and 60's hippies did change things.there's a lot of talk nowadays about tolerance, multiculturalism, unity in diversity, cosmopolitanism and peace than it was before they came. phibes dude,i really like,no, love the anarchist*/libertarian ideeas, but you just can't get freedom by violence.through agression towards individuals that peacefully opose/don't care about your ideals you take their freedom.and at one point there will be a group stronger than yours, which'll take your freedom. hippies were a lot more anarchistic/libertarian than any other current. *anarchist, not anarcho-communist,which is just wrong.the need for private property and privacy is in our genes.imagine you're in a bed with your loved one and some guy you don't know,or anybody, gets in and goes to sleep between the two of you.or that your kid is sick and somebody comes and takes his pillow because their kid is also sick.don't tell me that'll be fine with you and that there will be enough pillows for anybody.
