So I had a very intense and realistic dream this morning but I'm not sure if its lucid or not. ok so heres what happend. I was with my girlfriend and we were out around doing some things, and then we got into a big argument, don't really remember what it was about. Then her friends came to visit. Two men. and there was this cave with rocks on the side of it. we started moving the rocks inside the cave to get to another cave entrance.(I remember this exact hidden cave from another dream, very weird). so then we got down the stairs to the bottom of the cave, which is now a big room. and I got really angry and killed them all. Then i started freaking out, thinking it was real and i was going to be found for these murders. (and no i have never killed anyone lol. i dont even want to ever.) i can remeber the bikes we used to drive to the cave, and the towel, and my hands being terribly bloody. So then I went on for a little while in a panic, in the dream. and then I woke up. Still trying hard to fight this freakish dream. I then realized it was all a dream when my gf was sleeping next to me.

I then was able to fall back asleep. Only to end up with my GF in the same dream again. this time she was alive and the the other guys were gone. I told her about what i did and she demanded that we go to the place. So we did. And she helped me clean up everything and promised me that I would not be caught.... Thats all i remember.

Know you all think I'm a killer hahah. phew that was one scary dream.

Yeah, don't think it was lucid, but it sounded intense. Under the REM state, your dreams activate a part of your brain called your amagedla (sp?) which deals with fear and agression, anger. There's debate about how often you dream, but one theory is you dream all night, and the REM dream state contains the "most intense" and therefore memorable dreams such as this. Lucidity is hard, and very delicate, because you remain in this brain wave while being conscious of the dream, sometimes realizing its a dream is enough to wake yourself up

i really think this is one of those cleche' things that people make a bigger deal about then they really are. sure it happens, whatever "it" is. WHY its supposed to be such a big deal is somewhat less certain.
