The weather in the areas of Canada where the vast majority of the population lives is similar to a lot of the US, actually. And yes, silly people. We don't take things that seriously, probably why we don't murder each other as often as our neighbours to the south.

 

I'm glad you like it in the deep freeze. One less immigrant to deal with.

When I and several hippie types(we looked it, for sure) tried to cross the border in 1970, all questioning stopped and they waved us on in to Canada when they found out we each had 4 or 5 thousand dollars in travelers checks with us. Enjoyed Canada very much.

 

It's easy to get in to visit, but to stay is more difficult.

That said, we accept more immigrants than almost any other country in the world.

 

Yeah....it's not 1970 anymore.
