Nyc is getting hot they are starting to search random people last week my friend got searched for putting his shirt into a backpack and now is doing some serious time on rikers for herb... Be careful of ny hippies i love the place but its gettin hot... trust me PeAcE oh i will be there this week and weekend to party

 

No offense, gdez, but NYC isn't any different than it has been since 9-11, random bag checks are nothing new. They are not done often and I have never been searched (I've lived here my whole life). As long as you're not doing anything suspicious, you have nothing to fear.

Also, I've never heard of anyone being sent to Rikers for herb, unless he happened to be carrying a large quantity or individually wrapped baggies (i.e. dealing) and is a repeat offender. Otherwise, they're pretty lenient. Cocaine, now that's another story...
