The closest I ever came to shooting another human was while I was in the military. A man had impaled a huge spider, I think it was a bird spider, on a bayonet and was shoving it up in people’s faces. I chambered a round and told him I would kill him were he stood if he did not get that thing out of my sight. I truly meant it too. I am scared to death of the things.

Anybody ever see the flick "Blue Velvet" ? Well, there is this scene toward the end of the film where the grandmother is cooking in the kitchen, she appears to be cooking meatloaf or a similar meat dish, and a blackbird with an insect in it's mouth lands on the window sill. The grandmother screams in fear and the granddaugther and her boyfriend (this may be reversed) run into the kitchen, and the boyfriend explains to the grandmother not to fear the bird with the insect in it's mouth because it is natural. As the grandmother stares in child-like amazement at the bird with the insect in it's mouth she say "Oh" and then, still continuing to stare at the bird, puts some meat into her mouth and begins to chew.
