News reporter on BBC just talking about the youths saying that they are getting no respect from the authorities and she says "respect has to be earned"...

From which side has it to be earned from?

From the side of the police who systematically bust people's doors down at 5 in the morning and kidnap them for growing plants?

It's called being flippant, I thought you'd understand your own language :mickey:... Anything giong down in Cardiff yet? Do you know of the general feeling at all?

Wrong thread. Go ahead and start a thread on it if you feel that strongly about it. I think sometimes there is just too much shit going down to care about everyone everywhere, though rest assured I try.

I found my answer, the police are recommending that the public don't take that course of action... That they don't defend themselves or their property, even just by peacefully gathering. LOL

By law they have the right to defend what's theirs. They should "man up" and exercise that right.

Too little, too late. Where were these genuises yesterday? Everyone on the social networks seemed to be saying "stay inside!" and such things yesterday, if only they had thought. Those Turks had itt together and they protected them and theirs. I think this will help in people realising the importance of their own power and responsibility

At least there are some people with a brain. The guardian comments are a lot more sentient than the Daily Mail ones, anyway!

A police station in Nottingham is reported to have been firebombed by a group of 30-40 yobbos. No-one injured.

Where we these oh-so-brave football supporting twats last night? As if they're going to help, running around the streets chanting like this until they work themselves up into a violent mob! Reports coming through that "ethnic" people are already being targeted.
    http://www.twitvid.com/DWZPW

lol @ "Engerland" in the chant, that's why I put my location as Engerland.

Seriously, I could commend peaceful vigil but this will just create more fear and probably more violence. They are also breaking the law doing what they're doing, it's only a matter of time before police intervene. Already talks of "our firms" jumping into action (that's the gangs associated with football clubs; sad pathetic hooligan types for those that don't know, typically groups with racist undertones). Time will tell how fucked up this is going to get!

Yeah, small group in leicester, apparently not too bad, police have it under control. Liverpool has well and truly kicked off. Still going a bit mad in Manchester, they're really regretting sending their police to London, now! Well, at least Liam Gallagher's poncy new boutique (twat) has been fucked up.

I'm surprised they don't just target the multinational corps. That would be a valid protest. Imagine if all the multinational corps were targeted wherever in the world they are. Then the local shops can come back and do a roaring biz, and everyone's local economies will prosper once again.

The multinationals would fail as business stays local, and new local companies popup to replace the multinationals. Money would stay in the local economy not leave to some off-shore bank where it finances the elite's market gambling and election fixes.
