well yeah obviously otherwise we wouldn't have music to listen to would we, and those bands weren't exactly manufactured were they, like most of the bands today, espicially the pop generation
It sounds like you are referring to bubblegum music, a genre that has existed for quite a while. This music is aimed at the largest record buying demographic-teenagers. As people get older they generally start liking music with more substance (I hope at least). Of course some people are born with better taste than others
There's a lot of truth in this thread. Still, I'm not going to slam the music industry for churning out tripe (which it does), because they're not selling to me. They're selling to the masses. Are you going to blame McDonalds for not serving vichisoisse au poivres gras instead of greasy fries? Nah, because they're not in the gourmet food biz. They're serving the masses.
