I've noticed that their list of food is only processed, packaged type stuff. I wonder why they didn't mention regular ol' fruits and vegetables, etc. Maybe because they're already blatantly vegan? It's a convenient list, but it makes ignorant people (like Irongoth) think that this is the only stuff vegans eat- which is far from the truth.

Farm factories ARE like the Holocaust. Making that analogy does not imply hatred of Jews at all- it implies that the Holocaust was a BAD thing, and thus nothing like it should ever happen again! to anybody!! I'm able to compare human and animal suffering because I am not speciesist.

C'mon, even PETA apologized for that trash.
LAmely, and Newkirk blamed it on a non-religious Jew who worked in the office.
THere are too many groups making positive change without all the fanfare for me to support PETA.
My last card is dated 2001.
But we don't see a comparison to WTC attacks do we? Nah, that's sacred territory. But we Jews are supposed to have gotten over the decimation of our people, as are the Romani, gays, and other "disposable people" as to have our grandfathers and grandmothers compared to chickens?
Sorry. Hitler wiped out 12 million thinking people. People who could have contributed so much to arts, sciences and yes, animal rights.
I do not believe that a holocaust is something to be exploited for an unrelated POV.

while I say that a animal has every right to live a life in peace, I also say we should stop this at its source: breeding.

wow, lots of things are really off.
Firstly, the guy who talked about fat vegans- there are fat people who eat meat and who don't, but there are way more fat meat eaters than vegans. also, the obesity rate for vegans is something like 2%. Obviously you aren't vegan and don't know anything about vegnism so I would politely suggest reading something before making yourself look like an idiot. This thread is for vegetarians, not for people who want to belittle them. We don't need your harrassment.

List of Peta food- they put that list for people who might not know some things are vegan. It's handy for shopping at food stores, helpful for the holidays, helpful for family members that don't know what the hell to buy their vegan family members, etc. Not all of it's trash. It shows that not everything commercial contains animal products and it is handy. Obviously fruit and vegetables are vegan (though some are actually covered with beeswax or shellac! Pah!) so they didn't mention the obvious. They mention things that were possibly old favourites before people went vegan. It's called "I can't believe it's vegan" for goodness sake. I would expect a peach or carrot to be vegan.

"Jew-hating"- the big misconception about that whole campaign: Peta's aim is not to degrade the victims of the holocaust, it is to show that murder is wrong, regardless of species. Since we live in a speciest society, it was obviously taken the wrong way. Peta's campaigns are sometimes misguided or even silly, but their hearts are in the right place and- you know who they are. They are probably the most well known animal rights organization and they do help animals. I have mixed feelings about them but they certainly aren't anti-semitic. And there were Jewish persons who helped the campaign also.

    peace all.
