Back to the idea of media exposure though.

There are so many multidimensional problems with the way things are, but I think that starting with ways that everyone can get into and enjoy would really be a great start.

Public access television would be a fantstic way for people who are interested to get some sort of message out there, and through a medium that people are really responsive too. The internet is also a great way but is maybe a little more hard to due, due to all the competition.

Most of what we hear and see on television is so watered down, filtered, and pointed due to corporate interest that we never really hear people telling shit like it is. This is why public access television would be a good platform.

People could discuss alternative living, legal issues (which are always likely to occur when you're fighting anything), real politics, have open discussions about ideas for change, invite on politicians to put them in the hot seat, promote organized events, discuss things of a more esoteric nature such as drug use without being quieted, etc.

Unfortunately we just don't see a lot of this. There's just very little organization going on it seems.

Well lunarverse, I already do those online things you mentioned. and I write a ton of letters. I have been doing that for years. Honestly sometimes It feels like what I do, does nothing at all for anything. and that is what bugs me the most. is I do the small things, but it never feels enough. and without money I can not do the bigger things.

No, it seems like it's not enough because what you're not seeing is any outcome or ground gained. That's the difference. Most people never do when they care about certain issues.

That's largely why a lot who were a part of the '60s revolution eventually went quiet in the early '80s. The loss was so upsetting and after all that time and progress the US turned around and got so conservative. It appeared as though they had really accomplished very little if anything. And the system was glad to have it appear that way.

Every petition is signed one signature at a time until there's enough to prove something matters, but until it's done, it's just a collection of people's names. Though it shows that people do care, and that's what's important.

Look at all the people in the US who donated millions of dollars to prop 19, one guy donated a million of his own money. In the end it didn't pass. Some might say that his money accomplished nothing. But what it did do was get the topic out there to show people that some of us do care and that we'll try however we can to get what is right.

There was a woman who ran for senator last month who donated I think more than one hundred million to her running. She lost. That just goes to show you that money doesn't always buy what you want.

Don't confuse lack of results with not accomplishing anything. They're not the same thing. At the very least you're showing people (the people you write) that there are people out there who care and are pissed off and will not sit by and say nothing, which is more than most can say.

thanks lunarverse! yOU definitely made me feel like I am helping!! thanks. I am going to continue to do that. As soon as I get paid, I am planning on going to the homeless shelters to help out. Have no gas money right now.
I am doing my online search for more petitions and letter writing right now.
Gotta get it done while the kids are playing in the backyard.
