I've tried melatonin, personally don't find it very helpful at all. Went through a few bottles of the stuff and decided my money would be better spent on diphenhydramine and nyquil

    i feel ya man,

you for sure need more sleep, i usually get 7-8 to even 9 hours

i ALWAYS get up about 2 hours early before school starts, so i can have a nice breakfast, get ready, and have time for a good wake & bake ( note: the wake n bake is very important to start the day off )

School is a bitch, just try to make the best of it, I was one of those people that never did homework (at home for that matter, I got it done though ), or study for tests and exams, but I still managed to get by, and I enjoyed most of my time. Every school has the preppy cool kids, the goths, and the stoners, I will always cherish all of the bowls and joints we chiefed on during lunch with my close friends.

This may sound lame, but maybe you are having troubles sleeping because you arnt getting enough exercise? Personally, I get a decent amount, and when night comes around, after I smoke a bowl and eat a bowl of cereal or something, I can just pass right out

    true, that.
i want some land i can homestead on, (costs money) to build a cob house (gonna have to buy some of the materials) some small livestock, chickens goats and sheep ($$$$$) and a sustaining garden (have to buy non GMO seeds so that i can save them for the next season)

there are no easy options to get out of the rat race. the race is designed that way, to keep you making the motions because its too hard to jump through the hoops to get out of it. all we can do is work towards that freedom together. save your money the old fashioned way, in cash so its out of big brothers sight, and save up for your bit of earth (which i disagree with on principle, its everyones earth, no one should 'own' any of it, of course in this state the rainwater belongs to the state before it even falls from the sky. seriously, look it up) then buy it outright.

while you are still stuck in the rat race you should learn stuff. skillz as they say. things that serve both art and function are good (quilting, clothesmaking/ repairs, blacksmithing) and can be bartered for those things you need. the older crafts bring in a good price too, because fewer people go into those crafts. when was the last time you walked into your local shoe repair shop and got your boots fixed? i think there are few things that feel as passively rebellious as learning an old skill that could keep you alive in a crisis, while the sheeple are still freaking out you can be in the lap of your self invented luxury.

i think i may have digressed a bit, but i feel ya man. i feel ya. the sooner you save the money the sooner you can escape the race, you just have to tough it out for now.

I am so glad you quoted that I wouldn't have ever read it. But yeah that quote is exactly how I feel it made me very happy to see somebody else that thinks that way. Fuck the regular society path, people can suck my nutz I handle my life the way I want.

It's tough because high school kids, especially boys, are on a totally different sleep schedule then the one the school creates for them. I think I heard somewhere in a clinical study, high school age kids bodies do best and sleep most naturally when sleeping from 2am till 10am, so trying to adjust your natural desire and body clock to another schedule is always challenging.

I've had sleeping problems on and off for years now and the only thing that has really helped get me in a healthy pattern is intensive exercise, especially when done 2-3 hours prior to when you want to go to sleep.
Aside from that, setting up a sleeping routine can be helpful. If you're stuck in a habit of getting in bed when you are not tired, rolling around for a while, watching tv, whatever, your body kind of already expects you will not sleep well. Instead, create some rituals that help you sleep. As silly as it sounds, rituals tell your body "..OHhh! Oh ok, it's sleep time now, let me calm down". But a ritual can be many things, taking a long shower, smoking in a specific place, reading a book you've read a million times already. Sticking to it is the hard part but after a while it will help.

Yeah Ive heard it takes around 20 days to get your body into a new routine. Just takes a bit of persistence to change your habits.

I really dont think sleep medication would help, I think it would be much better to allow your body to adjust naturally into a new regime, thats just my opinion though :cheers2:

You seem to already know what the problem is.
4 to 5 hours a night just isn't adequate man, after awhile it's going to catch up to you. You wouldn't feel so beaten down and exhausted if you were getting a good night's rest every night.

    Twang-

What did they say about your hyperthyroidism-this is a very minor thing for most people if it is treated. I have 2 friends who have this. You caught it early which is good.

This is a lot to deal with-I feel for you dude.

If you're up to it you should try to read about this on the internet over the weekend. Take notes. Educate yourself. It's hard but at least try to take control of your treatment.

You want to be able to ask your doctor questions and get good answers. Make sure you understand what is happening. You need to feel comfortable with your doctor.
