To add another one of Randolph's bands, check out The Word. They blew me away at bonnaroo, it's john medeski, robert randolph, and the north mississippi allstars. They play like jammed out gospel blues, it's sick.

oh, and in the blended band theory, Surprise Me Mr. Davis: the Slip plus Nathan Moore, a hot singer songwriter who is usually in Tha Muse Meant.

You didn't get shit for your opinion, you got shit because you were being ignorant, classifying people as "custies" and bullshit like that when we're talking about jam bands, not jam fans or whatever kind of circus goes on in the lots.

I just stated I didnt like these bands, and I didnt like the scene that they bring with them, because they bring alot of preppy frat boys-which to me are custies. Thats not to say that Phish has never arracted this type of people, but atleast Phish was a trend-setter, not followers.

in 2004, MMJ put on a pretty good show at the 'roo. It was on the same stage immediately preceding the show in my sig (Galactic). Not mind-blowing, and not really jam-music, but still a pretty good show.

This year at Wakarusa I was impressed by ALO, Donna the Buffalo, and North Mississippi.

"'97 phish? thats all you can really dig? i've go you in my scopes now. starting to understand your musical tastes.....you don't like alot of experimentation do you? i'm guessing you like music thats to the point? do you like songs more than jams? most people who long for the 97 phish days, usually are into less jamming and more of the written song element....i myself, like to be taken on long journeys, that can sometimes crash and burn in your face....its like extreme sports, just in a musical sense......but thats just me....."

Naw I like a wide variety of Phish however lately I can't get 11/17/97 out of my CD player thats why I picked '97. But I guess in a sense I do like a lot of songs with a strong composition: Divided Sky, Harry Hood, Guyute, etc. But I also love Boogie on>Alpine Jam>Ghost... It all depends on the mood.

Honkeytonk Homeslice is awesome! I got to see them play with a few members of Leftover Salmon and boy was that show a blast.
