I don't agree, he seems to make up a lot of crap. He may have seen a lot of beautiful natural dreads but I've seen a lot of gorgeous backcombed/waxed/twist&rip/crocheted dreads! I may not agree w doing some of those things but I'm not going to push my opinions on someone over and over.
The way I see it, if SE refuses to see where he's going wrong than he's not going to change his ways and this bad vibe is going to stay. I mean he's the oldest person on this forum but as we can see from his last post is he's incredibly immature.

brayingdonkey: you are not the first whos felt this way so don't think it's your fault!

And Mandyyyy: yey, I'll tell you when I'm doing a piece for you. We could send them the same day^_^how fun.xxx

Oh, yes there's plenty of crap too! ... but all of us frequently have slightly different opinions, so I don't think it's that in itself. More the delivery of the opinions, and always these mile-long barely legible repetitive lectures, often with contradictions and frequently bordering on offensive, albeit mostly unintentionally I think. Blah. Whatever lol !

My kittens don't miaow properly. One shouts, "Mah! Mah!" and the other goes "Meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!" They are silly :D

okie, I'm going to get some chocolate spread on toast and tea, nomnomnom.

bcmama, your child is a genius:)I hope Riloh loves to sing but I don't wanna be like the mama in 'about a boy' my sisters always slag me saying that I look like her when I wear my pixi hat. Riloh has this little clappy wooden percussion instrument and has learned how to play it. It's soo cute, he looks like a drunk old man in the back of a pub playing the spoons.

Yeh I still haven't taken any daylight shots have I...not had the mood yet. It's quite a purple pink actually, especially where it's gone over the old dye. The freshly bleached areas didn't take as much colour so they're closer to a fuschia colour. I think it's better with my skin. I always thought the blue dye looked better on me than pink, but it just faded so fast.

I was red then purple than blue. The red suited me by far the most. I fell in love w coloured hair after watching eternal sunshine. Kate Winslet looked soo good w blue hair. I just looked kind of gothic :/ what is your natural hair colour A?

Yes re Eternal Sunshine! She's stunning anyway :)
My natural colour is that kinda mousey brown that hair which used to be blonde goes. My eyebrows and lashes are quite fair; I dye them when I can be bothered. Redder tones tend to bring out any blotching on my skin and make me look a bit ill, especially as I don't wear make-up, and cooler colours or pinks with blue-tones in them seem better.

Hah, that's funny because that picture of the back of my head is months old (probably around when you joined, actually :p).

These are the two most recent pictures I have...

wow, its true amy, everything happens when im asleep too....

    right er

good on ya lux and scattered leaves and dragon, and anyone i may have missed, someone had to try to explain things to SE

SE dont leave, it will leave an open void in this forum, I still think you have a lot to offer, please just take a deep breath, sleep on it, then look back at some of the recent history on the board and place yourself as an outsider looking in. I do hope you see a more balanced view and can then accept the points presented as really quite valid.

Brayingdonkey, dont leave man, your a funny guy, with sound advice that links hand in hand with a more modern take on dreads that is accomodating and real. if you go it will make the void left by SE even bigger

we are all friends on here, and friends have their disagreements, nobody intents to personally attack at all. We just scope each other out from time to time, and perhaps push a few buttons we shouldnt, but it doesnt mean there are any hard feelings :)

very well put phil! I agree. I get to squeeze you after Lux! =]
Lux....I agree with you. Im glad people have finally told SE how it is. I hope he can take the criticism positively and not run from it.
SE if you read this....dont go! WE love ya. You just get really pushy sometimes on newbies and give this forum a bad light without meaning too. Plus sometimes you seem to be living in a fantasy world....which is great if that works for you...but most of us cant really relate ya know?! But as Phil said...you leaving would create a strange void. So dont do it buster!
BC wow! Your daughters a poet and musician! Did she just fall into that naturally or did you and your hubby sorta giver her a little push into music and poetry? I started Amara in ballet and tap dance [she's 5] She was really into it for the first month and now after I spent about 200 on cute little dance outfits, shoes, and the classes....she's just not that into it! Bwah! lol. I dont know if I should push her into staying with it a bit longer or go with the flow and fins somehting else.
Roquette...Wow arnt I a silly head! I just remember a front pic of you and your hair was all wild and curly. I dont remember seeing back shots. But anywho...wow...theyve really shrunk up and are doing there thing! Woohoo!

We never pushed her towards music or art, but when she showed an interest, we gave her our full support.
I remember my dad telling me that I could never make a living with my art and/or writing, so I never pursued it seriously. I do not want that to happen to Skylah. I am encouraging her to go to college/uni to get a career that will support her until she makes it as an author, but I am not telling her to give up on her dreams.

And the whole SE thing: I'm just tired of his rants, his rude inuendos and insinuations. Because I mentioned that I was anti-social, he insinuates that I do not have the ability to take part in debates....that kind of thing. I'm tired of feeling judged by SE.
I agree with some of what he says, but I don't agree with how he says it.

tbh I think I'd prefer it in here without him. I feel kind of bad saying that especially since he's been here way longer than me or realli, any of us around here! But when that whole thing w hippyhillbilly was going on (think thats his name) it was clear that this had been going on for years. SE was saying that he 'wasn't able' to post in some of the other forums. Maybe the same thing was happening in the other forums on here and when people confronted him about it he left instead of just opening up and 'being real' as he's always on about. SE is older than any of us here and the older you get the harder it is for you to change your ways...

Mandy hun, I did ballet when I was about your daughters age but then decided I didn't want to do it anymore. Now when I look back at pictures of me in my cute lil pink tutu I SO wish I'd kept it up!! I never hated it, just wasn't as interested in it anymore. Since you spent all that money I wouldn't let her give up so quick. Maybe you could go to a ballet or rent one out on video. I know when I see a movie about dance I just wanna get up dancing after watching it:)my mama did ballet till her late teens and she has perfect posture too. Sometimes I tend to slouch. Just a thought^-^
