“They looked at the paper and saw nothing in those curving lines, but they knew and understood everything, for their geography was in their blood and they felt biologically their picture of the world.” - Ivo Andrić What a man, what a book.
People will let you down, welcome to life... People will also lift you up, save you, teach you, and guide you. Welcome to life! (Elle Febbo)
'How seldom, friend! a good great man inherits Honour or wealth with all his worth and pains! It sounds like stories from the land of spirits If any man obtain that which he merits Or any merit that which he obtains.' ^ For shame, dear friend, renounce this canting strain! What would'st thou have a good great man obtain? Place? titles? salary? a gilded chain? Or throne of corses which his sword had slain? Greatness and goodness are not means, but ends! Hath he not always treasures, always friends, The good great man? three treasures, Love, and Light, And Calm Thoughts, regular as infant's breath: And three firm friends, more sure than day and night, Himself, his Maker, and the angel Death! Samuel Coleridge
To see a World in a grain of sand And Heaven in a wild flower Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand And Eternity in an hour - William Blake. You don't have a soul You are a soul You have a body I don't know who said it, but I'm pretty sure the quote got me through quitting smoking..
Hahaha! Good question! I think it helped me to disassociate myself from the physical addiction. Like "yeah body you're going to want to smoke but that is not my want" kind of thing (I = eternal spirit). I love the idea that we are spiritual beings having a physical experience. Does that make sense ?
“If you love what you do and are willing to do what it takes, it's within your reach. And it'll be worth every minute you spend alone at night, thinking and thinking about what it is you want to design or build. It'll be worth it, I promise.” --Steve Wozniak
