Lets get real America. (Not as interesting as sounds..about TSA)

It works like Radar, with radio waves. Think about it. X-ray needs to reveal your bone structure. This just your surface. I posted a link somewhere on this thread where an expert verified the low levels of radiation. The fact that this world is radiating everyday, and your subject to the radiation, it is silly to fear radiation like this. Health is clearly not important in this world so far, so why make a big to do about small amounts of radiation. I do think that they shouldn't need to observe the surface of all our skin though. I certainly don't want to fly because of this.

 

You make some good points, but even though health may not be a primary concern of most people, it is to me. Healthy body-> healthy mind -> healthy spirit.

I DO realize that everyday I am exposed to small amounts of radiation, whether it be from the microwave, computer, what have you. I think about this daily, and I have been limiting my time in front of the computer a whole lot recently for that and other reasons.

Even if it is tolerable, small amounts of radiation, I don't feel the need to subject myself to it, when there are other options. I have had many, many x-rays done at the dentist, for the many bones i've broken and many post surgery as well. If it isn't necessary that I subject my body to a body scan, then I'll go for people invading my privacy by groping me in order "to protect" other people (on the plane) as well as myself.

I, as a person, have been changing a rapidly over the past few years, and even faster in the past few months. My goal is to grow all my own food, to eliminate unwanted pesticides, perservatives, etc. Health is a primary concern of mine, and even if my cocern over the body scan is truly unwaranted, I respect my body enough to refuse the body scan in the future.
